Will it cut a sweet potatoes??

A smaller sweet potato, yes (but it still takes some force)...anything above a smaller sized sweet potato is very, very difficult. I’ve tried numerous times and the potato typically gets stuck in the blade due to how dense it is. On the flip side, it is very easy cut a regular potato - in fact, the fries come out great!

Is it all metal steel. Looks like the back is plastic?

The push plate has a plastic face... mine broke after 3 months... no word from the manufacturer

Does it have a suction cup to hold it in place?

It does and works great for the first several times... then the suction cup loses it's grip. This makes it quite dangerous to use.

Can it cube/dice potatoes?

I was thinking about this. There would be limitations. 1st I’d cut the potato’s length with a knife to match the width of inside of the slicer. Next I would put t in the slicer & cut the potato just short of all the way thru so that all of the pieces were still connected. Then I’d rotate the potato 90°so that the previous cuts were crosswise. Now, slice all the way thru and you should have 1/2” cubes. Get the smaller blade if you want 3/8” cubes a for hash. I want to try an onion this way also.
