Wow. Quiet and powerful fan! Shop no further, this is the one. TL;DR @ bottom
Was in the market for a new tower fan and wanted something a bit quieter but with good flow rate. People swear by Honeywell but my QuietSet has been a piece of trash and tips over if you even look at it wrong. I inherited my Lasko from a roommate and it's a great fan that can really take a beating. Looked at several brands (Dyson TP07, etc. included) and was told the best to look for is something with a DC motor. Dreo is one of few manufacturers (at least on Amazon) that makes a DC-motor tower fan. I primarily use tower fans for sleep but also in my living room if I get warm on the couch. I like the consistent air flow they provide and I generally find them better for cooling my bed and sheets. I also wanted something that you could completely turn the display lights off while sleeping. Some manufacturers have a sleep mode that dims the light but that mode also gradually turns the fan speed down and turns off. Noise isn't a biggie but I wanted something reasonably quieter than my jet-engine Honeywell because I was waking up with literal ear pain from the ruckus. Was deciding between the Dreo Pilot Pro and Pilot Max. I wanted the smart version of the Pilot Max for the Alexa integration but it's not sold on Amazon (only the non-smart version) and is sold out on the Dreo website. Couldn't see the advantage of paying an extra $30 for the Pilot Max over the Pilot Pro so I bought that instead. It's a DC-motor tower fan, 42" height, and good reviews but doesn't seem to have a dimming light button/setting. I thought I'd give it a try anyways and just tape over the display if needed. Setup was very easy. You just snap two pieces together to form the base and you twist it at the base of the tower column and that's it. Plugged the power supply in and turned it on. WOW. At fan speed #5, this thing blows my Honeywell out of the water. Not even close. It even beats my Lasko at delivering a more consistent column of air. Don't expect this thing to be whisper quiet at #5+ but it is a nice improvement over Honeywell QuietSet. Under #5 though this really is very quiet. The remote is very nice as well as it has discrete +/- buttons for fan speeds so you don't have to cycle through each speed until you find the right one. But I was dreading going to sleep that night only to be disappointed by the blinding display... after a few minutes of enjoying the air, I looked up and the lights automatically turn off!!! You don't even have to worry about turning the dumb display lights off! Dreo should update this in the product title/description because I think more people would buy this if they knew the lights auto-dim. So if you want something quiet, especially for your bedroom and sleep time, that dims the light *automatically*, with high flow rate, this is the fan for you. I will be buying a second one for my living room (hopefully the smart Pilot Max) and keeping my Lasko for a backup (it will probably outlive me). TL;DR: Look no further, this fan is a great price and works flawlessly (lights auto-dim completely).

The best fan I have had.
The Dreo Tower Fan is a great way to stay cool for this season. I live on the first floor of a relatively large building. We've been experiencing a lengthy heatwave for nearly ten days, and I just have two window air conditioners working hard to keep things cool. I've also been using a large box fan and an old-school round head, three-blade tower fan to push the cool air from the AC units around the home. It was still relatively warm in my apartment, no matter what configuration I set up for the fans to try to disperse the air around. I've been avoiding doing anything that would contribute to the heat in my houses, such as opening my shades, blow-drying my hair, or cooking. Even with the old tower fan pointing directly at me on high, sleeping has been difficult. With the temperatures rapidly rising and the hot sun beaming for twice as long these days, it's no surprise that almost every room in the house is stuffy and uncomfortable. While it is possible to just switch on the air conditioner all day, this is an expensive luxury that quickly adds up. So I am looking for an alternative. The Dreo Pilot Pro tower fan is quieter (25DB) due to a DC motor, with a power output of only 24W, but it is also very power-saving.The space-saving tower fan provides a continuous breeze that keeps everyone cool, even on hot days. In addition, a handy remote is included, allowing you to control the fan from any place. The floor fan is inherently quiet due to its lack of blades, which reduces surplus noise over time. It also has a large, easy-to-read LED screen that shows the current room temperature, wind speed, and other modes. And it's wonderful for me to have a bright light glowing tonight; once sleep mode is set, the screen will switch off automatically after a few seconds. This is the best replacement for an air conditioner, so I gave it a five-star rating. I could feel the breeze while I sat in the room as if I were on a Caribbean beach with a cool breeze. The remote control is an excellent feature that is simple to use. Additional features include: Timer: When the fan is turned on or off, press the timer button repeatedly to establish a timer ranging from 1 to 12 hours. When the timer expires, the fan will automatically stop and restart. Set the time to 0 hours to cancel. Mute: Use the mute button to toggle the button noises on and off. Memory: If the fan is switched off or disconnected from power, it will revert to its prior settings (except for the timer setting) when turned back on. To summarize, it's been a pretty pleasant experience.

An improvement on an already great fan!
This is the second time we have purchased this fan, with the first one in 2023. The newer one is an improvement in several ways: First, no more separate AC adapter brick. The power supply is now integrated into the fan itself. This did strike me a bit odd with the previous version of the fan, as it was definitely big enough to house the transformer inside of it. Second, the fan speed now goes up to 12 versus 9 on the previous version. This fan can move a LOT of air and, like the previous version, is near dead silent on the lower speeds. Third, the oscillation feature has been further improved and now makes no noise. The older model probably used a synchronous motor for the rotation mechanism, which always had a hum to it. This newer version of the fan is dead silent even when oscillating, which is great for peaceful sleep. I don't know what black magic DREO pulled to fix this, but this is the biggest improvement they made. The bad: If you use the app to control some of the fan functions like I do, both the older and newer version of the fan are off on their temperature calibration by about 7° f. this is adjustable in the app, but it's odd that they haven't fixed this issue in the newer version. The scheduling feature is also available only in the app. If cloud connectivity ever goes down for this product, you will lose that feature. But it's not required for the fan to work. It does include a remote that gives you control of the majority of the functions, so it can be used as a normal fan completely offline if you wish.

Was looking through several local and global tower fan models. Bought 2, one of them being this Dreo and it was the clear winner in terms of power, ability to move air and ease of use. Great product and service team has also been very responsive through the Dreo app to help diagnose a clicking sound which went away very soon.
