I am a hand lettering artist with no graphic design background or anything like that. I've only skimmed the pages of this book so far, and I can't put it down. There is so much information and inspiration...it's amazing. I have read a few other lettering books, and they just kind of explain their processes and tools. Which is awesome, but this book really shows the breakdown of EVERYTHING. It talks about all of the technical terms of a letter, spacing between letters, different styles, and the business side of freelance lettering as well!!! This is a top 3 lettering book on my list without a doubt.

If you are a lover of type or getting into hand lettering, this book is a great resource. I love the tone of it and have picked up a lot of useful tips. Martina Flor is a wonderful artist and I love open she is about teaching her craft to others.

Very great book on lettering , Autor gives examples of copy with lots of side notes which are super informative . If you want to design your own letters this is the book. Contains profanity.

Still reading the book but it seems to contain enough information to adequately get started hand lettering with an explanation of good process.

This book did not disappoint. The author is thorough in her explanations and examples. I'm working my way through the book but so far, I find it extremely useful and beautiful!

It’s more of a background of lettering compared to a calligraphy handbook. It helps you understand and learn how the written words progressed through the ages.

A lot of useful information and I do recommend this book to anyone and everyone.

This is now one of my favourite lettering books. Starting with the fundamentals and building from there through to composition and vectorising artwork, this book has everything you need to learn how to build solid lettering skills and create stylised pieces. The hand drawn illustrations are beautiful and while this book is a delight to look at, it’s one of the best lettering books I’ve got in my collection.

LOVE this book. Martina's work is beautiful and this is a great insight into her thought and design process. A really great buy if you are interested in lettering, full of inspiration and advice on ways to look at lettering. Well worth buying, well written and very accessible, great images throughout. I'm a big fan of her work and this book does not disappoint. A good buy for any design student or designer, or anyone with an interest in typography and lettering

A beautiful book about lettering. The whole process from project research to computerizing is explained in depth. The many chapters on how to create (and how not to create!) letters is extremely clear and illuminating. Probably one of the best books about lettering on the market.

Para iniciarse en el lettering y más allá. Martina Flor expande su arte y su didáctica en un libro muy bien editado y con unos contenidos muy elaborados, precisos y valiosos. Muy recomendable, y sin duda debe estar entre tus libros sobre lettering, aunque es posible que el precio un poco excesivamente costoso.
