Aveeno Eczema Therapy Moisturizing Cream, 5 Ounce

I have tried everything for my itchy peri menopausal skin and this is the only cream that helps me so much! It helps my skin stay soft and not greasy and it has a light scent so it’s not overpowering. It lasts a long time also because you don’t need a lot of it.

I’ve been dealing with an eczema flare-up, and while I know everyone’s eczema and body are different, this product truly made a difference for me. My eczema is triggered by sweat, which is extremely hard to manage since I live in a very humid country. My dermatologist prescribed a topical steroid cream that I can only use for 5 days at a time, followed by a minimum 2-week break. After using the steroid, I was still itchy. I tried E45 cream, unscented petroleum jelly, and even baby diaper rash cream. While they helped briefly, the relief never lasted. I love exercising, but during my flare-ups, sweating makes my skin inflamed and unbearably itchy — I hadn’t worked out in over a week. The moment I applied this cream, my itching stopped immediately (no exaggeration). I put it to the test by exercising — I sweat more than average — and not once did my skin itch, turn red, or flare up like it normally does. I was honestly so happy. Definitely repurchasing. Highly recommend giving it a try.

I originally bought this Aveeno Eczema Therapy Cream for my son because he has sensitive, dry skin that can get irritated easily, especially during seasonal changes. Unfortunately, his skin didn’t react well to this particular product at first, so we contacted Amazon and received a refund. They told us we could keep or dispose of the cream ourselves, so instead of throwing it away, my husband decided to try it on his own dry, itchy areas. Honestly, that completely changed our opinion of this product. After just a few uses, we started noticing a big improvement in his skin. He gets patches of rough, irritated dryness, especially around the arms, legs, and during colder weather, and this cream helped calm everything down much faster than many regular body lotions we’ve tried before. The skin looked less flaky, less irritated, and much more comfortable overall. The texture is rich and moisturizing without feeling greasy or sticky. It absorbs slower than lightweight lotions, but that actually makes it feel more protective and long-lasting on very dry skin. Once it settles in, the skin feels soft and hydrated for hours. My husband especially liked that it didn’t burn or sting on irritated areas, which happens with some heavily fragranced creams. One thing I really appreciate is that it’s fragrance-free and steroid-free. For people with sensitive skin or eczema-prone skin, that makes a huge difference. The colloidal oatmeal and ceramide combination seems to help strengthen the skin barrier instead of just temporarily coating the skin. Over time, his skin looked healthier instead of constantly cycling between dryness and irritation. I also noticed this works especially well after showering when applied to slightly damp skin. It helps lock in moisture much better that way. Another bonus is the value. The tube is large, and a little goes a long way because the cream is thick and concentrated. I also found the Amazon price slightly cheaper than many local stores around us, which made it an even better deal. Overall, even though this cream didn’t end up working for my son personally, I’m still giving it a very positive review because it worked extremely well for my husband’s dry and eczema-prone skin. It reminded me that skincare can be very individual, but when this product works for your skin type, the results can actually be really impressive.

Love this wonderful cream. It has helped my excema which I have had for over 25 years. I had used it back in 2019 and it didn't seem to help that much and started using something else. I tried again this year in February and it seemed to be improving my my excema so have been using only it for the last 6 months and my skin is 90% clear with no more itching. Amazing but don't really know if something else may have caused the change. I tend to think it was the Aveeno and I have subscribed so I always have it as it softens my very dry skin and is not oily. It is worth a try!

Like many others here, I have eczema. Fortunately, my eczema only becomes an issue during the winter months when the air is very dry and cold. It's become more of an issue as the years have gone by, though. It also becomes worse as winter progresses. My skin becomes dry, scaly, flaky, it cracks and itches and burns. What I have done to address my skin problem: 1) Taken cold showers instead of warm showers. 2) Have a humidifier in my room. 3) Apply lotion twice a day. 4) Drink lots of water All these things have only helped to keep my skin from becoming unbearably dry, but they have not helped to actually heal my skin. It continues to get worse as winter drags on. I've tried all types of creams and lotions and none of them have helped. No matter what I use, it always seems to leave my skin feeling dry again within hours. Some days I fantasized about just laying in a tub full of lotion for the entire day, just to give myself some relief from the dryness. =) When I first used this Aveeno cream, it was right before I went to bed. When I woke up the next morning, I noticed my body was somewhat sweaty, which never happens during the winter, as my skin becomes so dry it keeps me from sweating normally. I also noticed that my skin was still moist and that I had a lot of loose, flaky skin. Not the bad kind of flaky, but the good kind, the kind where your skin becomes flaky when you heal from a sunburn and it becomes to peel. When I went to shower that night, all the flaky skin just rubbed off. This lotion has been effective in keeping my skin moisturized to where the dead skin that accumulated on the surface during the first few weeks of winter is beginning to separate and peel. It's been about 4 days and now I can definitely see and feel the difference. There is still a small amount of flaky skin here and there, but I estimate another week of usage of this cream and my skin should be fully restored. I am very glad I did not give up on my search for a solution to my skin issues. I feel the quality of my life has greatly improved with this cream. No more having to deal with painful winters. I can see why this is so expensive: it actually works.

If your skin is exceptionally dry, try this product. I was amazed at just how fast it soothes. The more I use, the better it feels.

I’ve suffered from severe itchy skin - knee down on both legs - for several years - have tried various moisturizers and creams …. condition worsens during winter months - but those creams and lotions didn’t give any relief! 24 Hrs after starting with Aveeno - the condition completely disappeared and my skin is silky smooth all over the body! Despite having known about the brand - I blame myselves for not having tried this years earlier!
