Excellent tool easily makes the correct angle cuts perfect for pottery jobs love it

I almost didn't buy this after reading the reviews. It's absolutely what I needed and it works well. I don't try to use it on hard cla, but it's worked hard on leather hard clay just fine. Sliw and steady and the wire has held up fine. I'll absolutely replace it with the same brand when it's time.

I am a novice potter and I really appreciate this tool to help me bevel my clay edges before slipping and securing closure. The tool fits nicely in the hand and the wire is taught just right in the tool. I would recommend that you move it s-l-o-w-l-y through your clay for best results. I was zealous at first and it pulled/teared my clay. This is not a criticism of the tool, it's a lesson/technique I had to learn as a new potter. I must say that although I could just use a scalpel and angle a bevel cut, I love using this tool for a consistent angle and depth to be more precise... happy clay building!!!

This tool, once you get the hang of it, is really helpful to bevel your edges for the scratch and slip together part of your piece. Do some practicing first on extra clay to get it in position just right for absolutely perfect beveling. Maybe get on U-tube to hasten your learning curve.
