honestly it is great. Good
I bought this for my recently M6 for my amateur photography, a chame view finder was not part of the camera but after a few days of use the camera, LCD screen was ok, but when mount the View finder, honestly it is great. Good. 1.- Resolution and size is great. 2.- Great contrast. 3.- Great brightness and adjustable from the main menu. 4.- Color look natural, not oversatured, or washed out. 5.- Easy to slide in/out, 6.- Push buttom on the left securely slide out, no push of the buttom, no slide out, great. 7.- Easy to adjust to your eye, by focusing with an external ring. 8.- Proximity sensor to detect when Your eye gets closer to the view finder, de activate the LCD and activate the View finder. 9.- View finder has anti-reflective coatig for better light transmision and less reflections that could leake from an improper eye alighment to the view finder. Few vendors offer this option. 10.- Included an small bag for storage when no needed. 11.- Massive improvement from my old 6MP Canon power shot S3 IS. 12.- All the information available in the LCD, is also available in the VF. 13.- Nice black color, match that of the M6 black. 14.- included a a piece of platic that slide in the VF to protect some of the pins that maek contact with the camera. 15.- Also have a Sony RX100 IV, mainly for video, but think this canon VF is just a little bit better. Not mad but did not liked me too much. 1.- Price , $199, the bill of materials cost of this VF is less than 20 USD. this is Canon's huge margin in action. 2.- Size, could be a little smaller, may be, not sure of the tradeoff. 3.- If this View finder could me included as part of the M6 camera, like sony RX100 IV, that could have been a killer. Overall , i'm quite happy with it, if you need a VF, this fit your camera, You are starting in photography or are amateur as me, you will be really happy with its performance. Attached are a few pictires mounted on the M6.

Excellent Photographic Gear
This EVF was a necessary addition to my Canon G3X. While the LCD screen is adequate for some photography, in bright sunlight and other conditions, a viewfinder is essential. It functions as advertised displaying the screen information and once switched ON remains on to allow either the use of the EVF or the LCD to compose the shot. It did require a firmware update. Canon provides excellent instructions to accomplish this.

Must get for Canon EOS M6 Mk.II
Absolutely must get for anyone looking to get the Canon EOS M6 Mk.II. The colors are rich and the screen is responsive. It's lightweight but you can tell it's made with some metal and is overall relatively durable. It also comes with a carry bag to store it in when it's not on the camera.

it's inconvenient but high quality.
This was way too expensive, but it is perfect for my canon eos 6 mark two. A quirky little viewfinder for a quirky little, quiet, high quality camera.

Great accessory! It should be standard equipment.
After reading the other reviews of the Canon M6 camera, I purchased the viewfinder! I wear glasses that have an automatic darkening tint while in sunlight which makes it very difficult to see the rear LED screen. The viewfinder locks onto the camera (there is a push button release) and allows viewing the full frame! The LED screen on the back of the camera blacks out when your eye nears the viewfinder. (Clever!) Purchase of this viewfinder was a “no-brainer” even though the price is high. It should be sold with the camera as standard equipment.

I miss the tilt feature!
I am disappointed that this EVF, although very good quality, does not have the 90 degree tilt up of the previous EVF 1 from Canon. Seems like a serious step backwards. I simply love that feature! Why it was abandoned in the new version, I can’t imagine. Tilting feature is SO awesome. I went out and got a used EV 1.

Better than just seeing through the lens.
I’m an old fashioned photographer. I’m uncomfortable looking at the screen to compose my picture. However, this better than just seeing through the lens. It shows exactly what the camera will see when I click the shutter.

Not cheap, but worth the money. . . .
An improvement over the original tilting EVF. It feels more secure and less likely to get damaged by an accidental impact than the earlier version.

Great super tiny viewfinder....
Package from: Excellent Photo, Montreal! :) Let me start by saying that the guys at “Excellent Photo” in Montreal did an awesome job packing and shipping the EVF-DC2. The package arrived the next day, super awesome service! The EVF-DC2 performs amazingly well, I do have to say that for a product which Canon says costs $300 MRSP, it is really tiny and maybe not even worth while unless you really, really need a viewfinder... I was expecting a more comfortable plastic eyepiece. The EVF-DC2 doesn’t pivot... BUT in a sunny day this is still a great help, if you do use EF or EF-S lenses with your M6 then the viewfinder can help you focus better in manual mode...

Good but expensive.
Does the job but expensive. Nice in silver matches the camera. Odd I couldn't get one in uk.

Most important part of M6
How can you use a camera without an eye piece. It wont be stable unless you tuck your elbows and keep the camera pressed in ur face .Or you use a tripod always. It should be part of camera in the first place.Any ways now it is complete and works fine though its expensive.

Glad I bought one.
I bought this EVF for a Canon M3. The rear screen on the M3 is not a good way to manual focus or to see in bright sunlight. The EVF makes the M3 way more functional. The image is bright and better than the image you would get from the viewfinder in a DSLR. For this second generation EVF to function on an M3 you must update the camera’s firmware. The viewfinder is expensive but makes the camera way more functional. Amazon’s price tipped it over for me; $200 vs the Canon store’s $340.

works well
No problems as advertised, is a bit awkward since it sticks high on the camera so must be removed for packing and transport ... don't lose the little plastic terminal cover! Comes with a small bag to put the viewfinder in ...
