Remediating deficits and managing disabilities has been a central preoccupation for clinical psychologists. Positive Psychology, in contrast, is concerned with the enhancement of happiness and well-being, involving the scientific study of the role of personal strengths and positive social systems in the promotion of optimal wellbeing. Alan Carr's Positive Psychology has become essential reading for anyone requiring a thorough and accessible introduction to the field. This new edition retains all the features that made the first edition so popular, including: accounts of major theories and relevant research learning objectives chapter summaries research and personal development questions suggestions for further reading measures for use in research glossaries of new terms. The book has also been completely updated to take account of recent research and major advances, and includes a new chapter on Positive Psychotherapy, an extended account of research on character strengths and virtues, and a discussion of recent ground-breaking research on emotional intelligence. This new edition of Positive Psychology will prove a valuable resource for psychology students and lecturers, as well as those involved in postgraduate training in related areas such as clinical psychology, social work, counselling and psychotherapy. Review: ๐ - Good ๐ Review: a pleasant and enjoyable text to read for a class - Excellent textbook, I purchased this particular textbook to get me through my Positive Psychology class because the Positive Psychology written by Compton and Hoffman was so terrible and didn't even have a glossary!! This text, I can reassure you has a glossary, is to the point and is highly readable and a pleasant and enjoyable text to read for a class!!

Good Textbook
The textbook came in great condition. It is mostly easy to read. There is only one section I had issues with. It has a lot of information in each section and is very dense. It's a great psychology text. I recommend it!

It's ok, but.....
Spell check! Overall, the book is good but the spelling is weird. Positive Psychology is a fairly new concept in Psyc and this book gives you good info about it. It's an easy read and backed by a lot of studies, surveys and researches. I would give this book 5 stars but the spelling is an issue for me. It's not that they're misspelled, it's just that they are spelled using European words that's why they look different. It's like reading an English book combined with a foreign language.
