Rice

It’s the perfect pasta alternative! The rice shape is obviously just cut up small to resemble “sort of” like rice, but the main benefits of Konjac root/ Shirataki are it’s zero carb, high fiber, low glycemic index and barely any calories. And it is mild in flavor so it takes on whatever sauce you add to it. We even made it with velveeta Mac and cheese sauce and really enjoyed that with some tuna mixed in! Directions for heating are so easy; rinse for a minute, microwave for a minute or to desired temp, then drain in netted strainer afterward to get rid of the extra water. I did the pan fry once, but didn’t find it that much different than just microwaving it, both are super quick and easy. Anyway you can use it just like rice or pastina, and imo it’s better than the thicker noodle Konjac pastas, which I find sometimes have a weird crunch. This rice shape is the way to go and really works well for someone trying to reduce calories and not have fluctuating blood sugar like me. Judge for yourself, but I think it’s a great pasta or rice substitute!

This is my go to for Konjac rice, always great taste, texture and quality.

First, I ordered the rice shape, but received the noodle shape instead. Since I bought it to mix with chicken Curry, this wasn't a small issue, but I decided to try it anyway. The preparation was easy. The taste was as advertised - only the Curry could be tasted. The texture wasn't objectionable, but the noodles clumped together, and were difficult to eat in that dish. In a Spaghetti Meat Sauce, they may work better. I also noticed that while the noodles absorbed flavor just fine, they didn't duplicate the liquid absorption I enjoy in rice. That's probably not a product flaw, but something a prospective purchaser should be aware of.

This product is great if you are going low/no carb. It gives you lots of options and is very, very easy to prepare. Be ready for the fact that the product essentially has no flavor, so it is best served with items that have a sauce/strong flavoring. I have tried both the rice, and the mixed variety of noodles. Personally my family prefers the rice and ramen type noodles. If I buy the spaghetti/fettuccini noodles again, I will cook them in the sauce vs putting the sauce over them. I have only had one problem with this product (after buying multiple 6 piece containers). One packet had only liquid and no product. The customer service department was fast, efficient and quickly replaced the defective package. I am very impressed with both the product and the company's dedication to standing behind their products.

Being on the Atkin's Low Carb diet means that many past pleasures are presently a memory, and pasta falls into that category. Following the directions on the package, no smells were present after draining, straining and frying as some other reviewers have noted. The fettuccini style noodles, in my estimation are preferable to the rice type grains, but we all have our own likes. After 70 plus years of enjoying all forms of carbohydrate loaded pasta, this is quite the change, but it does in a pinch to keep on the weight loss schedule, which almost at the end of the goal, and then in moderation and in principle with the diet guidelines, the real thing will be able to be chewed and savored on occasion. Wish this product was brought to my attention sooner. A little pricy for the quantity, but there's 5 stars for the double product packaging to protect the contents. Thank you.

I'll tell you what, there is ZERO smell and it doesn't actually taste like anything. If you don't mind chewing on what feels like live miniature tentacles, then this will work great for you. I personally don't like the feeling of a dying mini-squid in my mouth.

This product is amazing! I use this for everything! The flavor is delicious! My husband even loves it. And it’s a really great source of fiber; the versatility of this product is amazing the options are endless. I even use to to make stuffed cabbage rolls and ditch the rice. My kids don’t even notice! However, better yet, the customer service is excellent! I have a subscription for these noodles/rice. I get it delivered every 4 weeks. Well, it was delivered during very low temperatures and must has frozen in the truck. The product is ruined if frozen (they say that on the package and I found out that’s very true) I contacted the company, they apologized and sent me new boxes no problem. They care about their customers and I truly appreciate that. Great product and now I know great customer service! I truly suggest you give these a try. Especially the spaghetti shape, noodle shape and the rice shape! So good! Be sure to follow the easy directions on the package.

I bought this to make low-carb meals for my diabetic boyfriend, and I am very impressed! I am not a huge fan of the texture of shirataki noodles, but this texture did not bother me at all. It feels a tiny bit less springy than miracle noodles, and that did the trick. There really is no smell to it too, as it claims. I used it to make cilantro-lime "rice" as a side to fried fish (breaded with Carbquick). It takes the flavor of whatever you add to it really well, and I think it is a better alternative to rice, seeing as it is super quick to use, since it's already technically cooked, and it's not a starch! I'm definitely buying more.
