This Great Hunting Folding Blade Knives is used for the outdoors. This is a product of the company Buck The Item Dimensions are Length (in) 5.5 Width (in) 1.5 Height (in) 1 Review: great american made knife - I bought the Buck Quickfire knife in black/silver. For $30 delivered and american made it is a great bargain. desertcart has the lowest price delivered I could find. Great styling, the feel and quality of the materials are great. The edge is decent and the open assist is quick though not as quick as my Leek but I like the safety lock that is on the Buck better. The weight is perfectly acceptable for its size. I also like the mid lock on the Buck better than the liner locks found on most blade assist knives. Overall a great knife. I usually keep my blade assist knives in an AG Russell pocket sheath(around $13 delivered if nothing else is ordered and made of very nice leather) for I have a concern that if I forget to lock the blade and the knife opens in my pocket I may be singing soprano. Update. My nephew liked the Buck Quickfire in black very much and I gave it to him. I re-ordered the Buck Quickfire in blue and like the blue so much better. The blue quickfire seems to open a little quicker, not sure if that is a QC thing or not. Overall, it is a great knife and I think the blue quickfire is better looking than the black. One thing that I forgot to mention is it fits well in my hand especially with the clip off. Be careful, check to make sure the lock is on before you put it in your pocket. I bought another in blue after I gave mine to my niece. Then bought one for my brother. update 8/20/13 - out of the 4 buck quickfire knives I bought, within 2 years 2 of the knives had problems. On one the blue handle cracked losing a third of one side of the handle that has the clip while it was in my pocket not being used and the second one, the knob to lock and unlock the blade fell off which was lost. The broken handle one was sent to buck for repair. The knives have a lifetime warranty. Overall would still buy another for they are good knives. Review: Great knife. My new EDC - I ordered the QuickFire to use as my every day carry. I wanted an assisted opening knife that didn't have a serrated blade. My work knife has a tactical point with half the blade serrated. I've decided that I don't like the Tactical point, and I've never used the serrated part of the blade. I did want to keep the assisted opening of my work knife, and the convenience of a pocket clip over a sheath. The QuickFire seemed to have everything I was looking for. When it came it was sharp right out of the box, but after a few hours of work it's now very VERY sharp. I've used it almost every day for one thing or another, and I'm happy to say that it's keeping it's edge. The knife has a lock to keep the blade from opening in your pocket, but it's easy to unlock and open the blade with one hand. The blade also has a very positive open lock with the release on the top of the handle. The handle is comfortable. I honestly don't have anything bad to say about this knife. It's everything I was looking for in an every day carry.

Best knife for the money
Functional, light. Best knife for the money. Not super sharp from the box, but after a few strokes on my Benchmade keychain sharpener, it was perfect. Assist open function is smooth and fast---even satisfying. I'm a big fan of Benchmade, but since one of my $140 Benchmade knife got stolen from my check-in luggage from a PDX to DFW flight, I knew I couldn't lose something like that again, and I need a knife wherever I travel. Buck has great quality and MADE IN THE USA knives at an affordable price. (Although I don't fancy the warning that comes on the box about how "Some of the chemicals used have been known in the state California to cause cancer..."). On a side note: I think it was TSA because the luggage transporters wouldn't cut zipties to open bags, right? And there was no note from TSA they checked the bag. Can't trust everybody.

Good EDC knife
This knife is exactly as it is described by the seller. I am a big fan of this knife overall. The mechanism that locks the blade open and the mechanism that locks the blade closed are separate, so they are used less often and less likely to break. Also, the assisted opening device is fast and reliable. The knife blade also holds an edge very well. The handle of the knife is ergonomically shaped so that it just feels right in your hand. The only negative thing I have to say about this knife is the assisted open mechanism has slowed over time ie. the knife no longer opens as fast as it used to. This however is to be expected because all springs stretch when used frequently. I use the pocket clip on this knife whenever I am storing the knife. The clip is well made and holds the knife sturdily in my pocket. I carry and use this knife during my work day and at home on a daily basis. The knife is the perfect size for an everyday carry tool. It is big enough to handle every task I have needed it for, yet it is still small enough to fit comfortably and easily in my pocket.

I wasn't sure I was going to like this, with the opening/locking mechanism it means I have to carry it in my left hand pocket and I'm right handed. But I've pretty well gotten used to it now. It opens really easily. I fact if I had one gripe about it its that the sliding safety lock could be a little stiffer for my liking. It's not bad but I have bumped it to the "off" position sliding my hand into my pocket for something else. Other than that it's a great knife especially for the price point. Very sharp to start and has held an edge very well after use cutting open cardboard and using on manila rope regularly.

Best ever!
This is the fastest assisted opening knife I have ever seen. I have owned this knife for almost a week now and I am very glad to make this my every day carry knife. It is constructed very nice, is very sharp, and like I said earlier the assisted opening works very well. The only thing I am not happy with is there is no way to tear this knife apart to clean it because it is riveted together. But over all this knife is a very nice knife, I like it so much that I just ordered another one. Oh and the best feature of thus knife is its made in the USA. If you are looking for a knife I highly recommend this knife, you can't beat the quality of this knife for the price that it is sold for.

Great knife. 420HC steel sharpens up nicely
Great knife. 420HC steel sharpens up nicely. Only modification is remove the last 1/4" of the clip. It stuck out and hooked on everything!! Hooked it so much it lost clip tension. To mod, I removed the part that sticks out (cut/ground it off), rounding the bottom of the clip, and bent in the right amount for good tension. Everything else about this knife is worth buying. If it had a clip like the Buck Vantage, it would be solid. Sorry no mod pictures. Update: August 2016 sent the knife back to Buck to be fixed for 'free'. Shipping was $10 for a $30 knife, so I will not do that again. When it worked, it worked well. The useful life was a lot shorter than I'd have expected. For how simple the product is I'm surprised the spring mechanism is no long strong enough to deploy the blade. Will opt for a Vantage or Vantage Pro in the future.

Outstanding. Cannot say enough
This has to be the sharpest knife out of the box ever. It passes the paper test with flying colors. The spring is the fastest I have ever seen. I would not be surprised if this knife is faster than an auto knife. It is seriously fast. It doesnt seem very secure when you close it and it would make me nervous to put it in my pocket if it were not for the safety lock. Once the lock is engaged there is absolutely no way the blade is going to open. The lock must be fully disengaged for the knife to open as well. When the blade is open there is absolutely no play at all. The heat treat is outstanding. For 420 hc steel this has incredible edge retention. I would recommend to absolutely anyone who is looking for a nice edc in a heartbeat.
