Wasn't expecting much, but this is a great little flashlight!
I bought this as a gamble because it was cheap but would be really cool if it works. I honestly didn't expect much, but now I carry this in my bag all the time. It's a great little flashlight that is very bright considering its size and the fact that it is solar/crank. Cranking just a little bit gives you light for quite some time --- the light emitted is focused kind of like a headlamp rather than a broad stream. I used it during a backpacking travel trip several times to help me navigate dark streets. It's small and lightweight (for lack of a better comparison, about the size/weight of a pack of cigarettes) , the clip is super sturdy, and it gets the job done. It would also be great to keep in your car or hurricane/blackout kit as an emergency flashlight. Absolutely recommend.

Works well
I haven’t tested the solar panel yet but the crank works smoothly and the flashlight is bright enough for an emergency flashlight. Perfect for long term storage in a car or wherever you want to have a flashlight nearby but don’t want to worry about batteries. It isn’t the brightest flashlight out there, but it’s not designed to be. It is bright enough for most emergency use cases. The power went out the other night and I could see down my entire hallway with it and I could easily move around my dark house.

solar panel falls off easily
I bought two of these for my children who were 4 and 7 at the time. It didn't take long for the first one to lose its solar panel, and the second one lost its solar panel a few months later. Both of them still work with the crank, and the battery life is pretty good. They are decently bright. Overall a good value for the money, and I would buy them again, especially if they improve the solar panel.

Oredered One light got it and decided to order another.
Great little light and holds the charge well. I cranked it for about a minute when I first got it, and 3 days later I turn it on and still have the light bright without cranking. I did leave it on for about 5 minutes the first day to test it and it kept the light bright without dimming. I was so happy with it I ordered another one to keep in the car but going to buy another one as I want my mom to have one for her car. It is small and light enough to even be carried in my purse without a problem. I like the hand crank ones as you don't have to go searching for a battery for them when they have sat a year or more before you use them. These flashlights are for emergency use but they do give off a very bright beam of light so could be used as a regular flashlight. I just wanted more flashlights as we just spent a week without power due to a snow storm.

GREAT little flash light!!
This thing is awesome!! I only gave 3 stars for durability bc I just received it. But it seems sturdy and good? I love the solar panel part on it AND it has a hand crank for when there is no power or sun. The end of it where the lights are even has rubber around it. So if you drop it, etc it should protect it. I love that it has a little clip on it. Very useful. I'm definitely happy with the purchase and look forward to using it on camping trips and in case of emergency.

Handy flashlight for travel
UPDATE: After only 4 months of light use, the hand crank plastic broke. I can no longer use the crank to power the flashlight. The plastic is too thin for the job of turning the crank.Works well with hand crank or solar to recharge. The light is bright and easy to turn on. Has a handy clip to clip on a belt or backpack.

This is the one to buy and keep around the house and car!!!! WORKS EASILY
This sudden winter storm caused a lot of trouble Friday. I thought I was so smart because I had this big Coleman lantern and had already filled it with a bazillion (8) D sized batteries (maybe C, anyway, big and many). Had to RTFM, even then I was thinking WHY did they make it so complicated? And heavy? And it says "recharges" but I dont see it charging in any way. So the power goes out and I grab this lantern and- nothing. So angry. When the power came back on I immediately reviewed itColeman Quad LED Lantern Special Edition Ultra Bright 190 Lumens, Red to warn others. I also saw its smaller lights also need batteries and each compartment needs screws! Who needs that in an emergency or camping? So I looked for something better and found these little lights. They came today, Sunday, thanks Amazon! So surprise, the power goes out again and I remember the box from Amazon. Grab the little light, in the darkness, rip off the wrapper and crank a little. Turn on the switch and LIGHT! Stayed on for a so long the power came back before it went out. Had to come back and tell you THIS IS THE ONE TO BUY AND KEEP AROUND THE HOUSE. I bought four, $8 each. Think I will buy more and put them in every room, every car. Leave it in the window and let it charge except its way too easy to crank. Perfect for camping too. So happy! Maybe there is another small crank/solar battery that is as good, but this is the one I tried, and no contest winner over the lantern.Only thing that would make it better is being able to stand it on end but really, not a big deal.

Sturdy and functional flashlight
This little emergency flashlight fits neatly into my hand and provides more than adequate light to get around in a dark house. The moving parts (on/off switch and crank handle) move smoothly and easily. The sturdy and functional design should predict years of usefulness. I can’t imagine how a previous reviewer managed to break the crank handle, as normal use wouldn’t have stressed it in that direction.I expect to use this flashlight briefly almost every day. If it dies a premature death I will add an update.
