Hi, for this type of balance beam, the length choice is 6ft, 8ft, 9ft and 10ft, 6ft is for yong children. And some parents also choose 8ft for yong children. 9ft and 10 ft length are for big kids. And this type of balance beam is portable, you can carry it to anywhere that you want, if you need a portable balance beam and for 12 year old, you could choose 9ft or 10ft, firm enough. We have another type of adjustable balance beam, for high level gymnastics students, this adjustable balance beam is with wheel, carry it very easy, you aso choose it for your 12 year old kids, thanks .

Too small for 6 years old

My daughter is 6 yrs and when she did cartwheel she couldn't fit on the beam. It is too short.

My daughter is loving it, the material and construction looks and feels really good. She practice competitive gymnastic and told me that the product is working really good, is light enough to be carried without issues for her and is helping her to improve.

Amazing!

Such a sturdy product! I wondered how it would hold up for the price but so far so good. Gave my daughter the confidence to do more on the beam at gymnastics. Folds in half and fits into a bag she can carry herself. One end also has Velcro on it to attach a mat.
