RENPHO Smart Scale for Body Weight, BMI & Body Fat, 13 Metrics, Elis 1

This scale has been great for the past month that I've had it. I'm trying to lose some weight and decided to get a scale to track my progress. I got my scale for $20 and there isn't anything I can complain about at that price. App: I don't like how every app wants to be my personal health coach, calorie counter, personal assistant and social media. There is 0 reason why I want to be making posts in the scale's app for other people to see. That is.... just dumb. That said, you can just ignore all of those aspects and only use it to track your weight. Just open the app when you want to weigh yourself, step on the scale and ignore the rest of the app's functionality. I would love seamless integration with Garmin Connect, but I suspect Garmin will only allow automatic weight tracking with their own scale. Accuracy: Weight seems to be accurate and this is really the only measurement I would rely on with any amount of accuracy. I don't have any way to verify the accuracy of body fat %, muscle mass, bone mass, etc, so definitely take all of those metrics with a significant grain of salt and use that for general trends, not for comparing from one person to another. Battery: Battery life so far hasn't been an issue. It came with a couple batteries and since it only powers on when you step on it and connects to your phone via Bluetooth I would expect the batteries to last a very long time. Usability: The scale is very simple to use, you just step on it with your phone opened to the app nearby. Doing the full measurements takes maybe 10 seconds and you're done. The display on the scale itself is great. The numbers are very large and readable when standing up and looking down. It by default scrolls through weight, BMI and Body Fat %. I'm not sure if that's editable or not -- I haven't needed to change that. My phone hasn't had any issue syncing with the scale. The only time I had a weird issue happen was when my wife and I both had the app open and we both had our phones nearby. One time when my wife stood on the scale it connected to my phone instead of hers and tried to import her data into my account. But the app detected the weight abnormality and warned me of the discrepancy and didn't import that data into my account. All in all, for the last month it's been great and I would definitely consider buying it again.

This scale is so easy to use. Downloaded the free app and it synced to the scale with no issues. The app has a place to set goals and then sets a calorie max for you. There is a place to easily track your calories with several foods (including various brands) built in. You can also add your own foods to choose from in the future. Shows all of your body composition results and tracks them as well. Definitely recommend. I also found a Renpho smart tape measurer at a resale shop. It syncs to the app as well.

The digital scale works well and connects to my iPhone with ease. The weight and other parameters such as BMI can be tracked using a dedicated app but also show up on the scale display when weighing. While the weight seems to be quite accurate the rest of the readings are just an estimate using some kind of predictive models, thus I would not give too much weight to these (pun intended), but they are fairly consistent. The scale itself is sleek and looks very nice and modern. The app functions very well, it saves your data and plots it for ease of tracking. It also allows you to set goals and reports on your progress. You can also add other users and track their weight, which is what I do for my kids. The great thing is that all the readings also get recoded in the health app which is great if you use your apple health and fitness apps. The app connects via Bluetooth so it has be on and your phone has to be in the vicinity of the scale for the readings to get recorded. I only had one time when the app would not connect to the scale but that was resolved by turning the scale off and back on, and I have not had this issue since. I really enjoy this scale and I think it is a good scale to track your weight and set goals for weight loss as well as for weight gain if you are trying to build muscles. I would buy it again and recommend it to others.

I absolutely love this RENPHO scale! The scale itself is easy to use, but what really sets it apart for me is the RENPHO app. It connects right to my phone and tracks so much more than just your weight. I can see trends over time for body fat, muscle mass, skeletal muscle, visceral fat, body water, bone mass, BMI, and more. Being able to look at the trends instead of focusing on a single day’s number makes it much easier to see my overall progress. The app is easy to understand, and having all of this information in one place has made tracking my health and fitness goals so much more motivating. I also love that I can simply step on the scale and have everything sync automatically. If you want more than a basic bathroom scale, I definitely recommend the RENPHO. The app alone makes it worth it!

Its a great scale and very accurate and very easy to set up. I gave it four stars because no mention of people with knee replacements cannot use ALL of the great benefits this scale has to offer. I am disappointed, however, I found my bio impedance hand held device and I can use that to measure body fat percentage which is much more important for health and wellness. You will love the app and ease of use.

Once you get it to work, it's fantastic. SETUP NOTE IS BELOW. I'm coming off of a traditional, weight-only scale. I upgraded because I wanted some idea of the other biomarkers, but also because I didn't want to keep entering the data into Apple Health (not to mention, Apple Health doesn't calculate BMI automatically, so that's another like 3 steps I wanted to avoid). I know, the biomarker data I get from a ~$20-25.00 scale is not going to be 100% accurate, but it's close enough to give me an idea when comparing against other numbers. The bluetooth connectivity on this scale is top notch. Just two steps to add it to the app, and the app automatically updates Apple Health with all of the biomarkers for me. It can accomodate up to something like 400#, so good for most people. (Should be good for literally all people, so maybe some incentive if you're above that.) I found this scale consistently says I'm ~.6-1# /lighter/ than my other electronic scale did. They're both digital, it's a black box how they measure weight, but I choose to believe the old scale has been overestimating my weight for the past few years. I absolutely have privacy concerns about sharing my data with faceless companies who are aggregating it and selling it. I share as little personal data as I can, ever. So before I purchased, I downloaded the app and confirmed you can use it without an account (no account, no uploads, all data stored locally on your device). This is without a doubt THE reason I purchased this one. I already returned competitor items that didn't have local-only functionality without apology. Also, if you do create an account-- there's the option to fully delete it. HOWEVER, to get the app to work properly and measure all of the biomarkers other than weight and height, there is an involved process. I discuss that below. All in all, I think the scale is just great. Especially for the price. ===SETUP NOTES=== For some reason, when I first used the app out-of-the-box with local only ("Guest") settings, it would only take my weight (and calcualte BMI). It consistently said it could not read my other metrics. I tried everything to support conductivity between the pads and my feet to no avail. I even tried other people, same result. I finally got it working, and I'm not sure if this is the answer for everyone but this is what worked for me. 1. Download app, login to guest mode, find and install scale. 2. On the Home Screen, click the far right selector "Me" 3. Click "Settings", Set "Auto Detect Nearby Devices" to "Off" 4. Back to home screen, select scale. Stand on scale and take measurement (don't forget to put your phone down nearby) 5. After the measurement you should get all results. If you get "If impedance is not detected y the scale, certain metrics such as body fat (%) will not be measured and recorded. Click here for assistance." continue on. 6. Home Screen > "Me" > "Account" 7. Log out of Guest Account, Create new account. 8. Create an account using dummy data, login. NOTE: You do need to verify your email address, so make sure you can access whichever one you use. Maybe use a plus address for ease. 9. Return to the home screen, select scale. Stand on the scale and take a measurement. You may or may not see the impedenace alert again. Ignore it. 10. Home Screen > "Me" > "Account" 11. Settings > Delete Account 12. Confirm account deletion (IIRC there was a confirmation for that too. Maybe email, maybe password?) 13. App should auto-logout, login again as guest. You should see your previous weight only data on the app. 14. From the home screen, select scale. Stand on the scale and take a measurement. After the reading, I got a chime and all measurements were taken. Hope this helps others looking to use this fantastic scale without sending their data away.

Wow, very seldom do you come across a cheap product that performs so well! I have a xiaomi smart scale, which I thought was a cheap price (paid $55) for a 'branded' bluetooth scale, probably the cheapest 'name brand' smart scales out there. Then there was mention of this Renpho scale, which already got so many high reviews it was annoying. Anyways, on to the product. The Renpho does everything it promises to do, providing those 11 'composition analysis' details (check the description). The app is really good 'flawless' is how my friend describes it. Uploads to Google Fit, and also to Open Scale which an open source app on Android. Really easy to setup and use. Initially experienced issues with consistency but found that this was because we weren't on a flat enough surface, so just something to watch out for. Also tested and confirmed that it DOES store weight records in case you don't have your phone with you, it syncs the missing records over during the next sync. Haven't had to recharge the battery yet, and this is a bit different to the xiaomi (which takes AAA batteries). However, it's not too much of a hassle to recharge them, I think possibly it might be annoying if you want to weigh yourself and you find the battery is weak so have to wait for a charge. Or maybe long term (I'm talking many years), the battery capacity might drop to an annoying level and require frequent recharge, but not a problen. PROs: - CHEAP PRICE (this was available for $22ish dollars during a promo) - Lots of measurements - Well made & Looks good - App is great - Lots of sync options CONs: - No WIFI sync so you always need your phone to upload data, but that is fine cos adding WIFI would blow the price. - Not a real con, but potential issue with built in lithium battery over long term use (I prefer using rechargeable AAA's) <-- this is more of a personal preference I guess. So - if you are looking for a budget scale which does lots of measurements, this should be it - the highest rated smart scales on Amazon, extremely positive price on it. Step on it!
