Resident Evil: Retribution - The Official Movie Novelization

I seen the movie and read thebook and i am very pleased. I am a huge resident evil fan and this was really great. The book also adds so things that the movie didnt touch on. It was a good read and very intresting.

Greatly improves the movie. The action is neatly described, some additional scenes are added and you have unlimited SFX budget in your mind to improve the action set pieces. Here's the thing. I loved so much the story that I actually watched the movie just to be disappointed by poor acting and ridiculous SFX. A very good tie in novel, with added detail to make the cast more human and additional scenes that wraps the story into a no-nonsense zombie adventure.

This is book number four of the Resident Evil novelizations. I was really disappointed there wasn’t a book for Afterlife, so the next book we get is for Resident Evil: Retribution. This starts shortly after she was freed all the captives on the ship, with some familiar faces: Claire and Chris Redfield, K-Mart. It begins when the ship is attacked. This fills in all the gap material! Why Alice and Becky bonded, how Wesker survived to reappear in Retribution, Jill and Alice’s different means of captivity by the Umbrella Corporation, and even introduces some juicy side characters that were not feature in the movie! It really had me hooked, because this book explains so much that we’re left vague or unmentioned in the movies! I got super excited at the 75% mark and just could not put it down because it filled in so much new information about the characters, their feelings towards each other, as well as more background about how Alice had been exploited by the Umbrella Corp. even before the T-Virus escaped. I don’t want to give spoilers, but if you loved the movies, you’ll love this novelization! I will mention though that there are places where the book could use some proofreading as well as a portion of the book that starts her bare footed but somehow she manages to have boots on. In the movie the boots were in the drawer, but in this book she somehow magically gets books. They’re minor mistakes but maybe the publisher should take note.

lol this book author is better than the writers that did this movie lol very well written and more realistic that supports the video games and movies characters all at the same time and tells what really happen cuz the movies seem to be cutting a lot of necessary scenes and focused way too much on its action I'm glad I purchase this book for my collection its very detailed and goes straight to the point

The book was in a better condition that I expected and the price was very good too it just had a bit of a delay for some reason but finally I receive it.

Well, first let me say that I like the book for the most part. But found some of it troublesome. In the part were the writer is talking about How Alice first became infested with the T virus he did not talk about how she escape from the hospital. Were the writer talked about Alice dressing in her combat outfit in the cell and her run down the hallway she was bare footed. But once she started fighting the zombies in the first fight of the story just as one of the zombies was about to take a bit out her foot she soundly found herself wearing boots that keep the zombie from biting her. In the movie the boots were in the draw along with her new combat outfit. Next was the first fight with the zombies it's self I would have like it to have been better describe. Not on word was written about how she made those movies flipping and kicking the zombies around the way she did in the movie. I would have loved it if the writer would have added in just a little more action in the fighting. But for the most part I found that I enjoyed the new parts to the story about what happen with the sub and the survivors, whose story was not in the movie.

I loved this book! I goes much deeper than the movie and I love that. The movie was great so of course the book was also!

Do you know where afterlife is? The fourth book? I can't seem to find it. Any help would be great

Never liked the film franchise of Resident Evil, but I needed this novel for the collection nonetheless... Bought used so there was slight wear from previous use, no damages from shipping however as I can tell. It arrived soundly on time!

I am a huge fan of the resident evil games and movies and this book was just...wow. It has almost every great scene from the movie!

The typos are annoying and distracting. At one place, a phrase is typed twice. I guess the publisher couldn't afford a decent editing department or simply couldn't care less. Even more annoying are the inconsistencies in storytelling. One moment, the boots are introduced, but we are never told that she puts them on. In fact, we are told SPECIFICALLY that she's BAREFOOT, TWICE. Page 66 says "she found a black Umbrella Corporation combat outfit, neatly folded, as well as a pair of boots." On the next page, page 67, we are told that she "pulled on the black outfit. It fit perfectly, of course. But there were no shoes—she was left barefoot." In chapter 6, on page 70, "her bare feet felt the rough, cold concrete beneath them." Then in Chapter 7 on page 76, when a zombie grabs her ankle, we are told that she's grateful for her boots. This says a lot about the level of care and attention the writer, the screenwriter, Constantin Film International GmbH, Davis Films and Impact Pictures have given to their Resident Evil brand.

Having read the other RE books in the series, this one is so much better. With the change of author, all the things I hated in the other books have gone. The unnecessary swearing and use of offensive terms have gone, leaving behind just a well-written and enjoyable story. Much recommended.
