How is this worth the price tag when a single trackball would do the same thing for much less, and you just toggle between the three logical controls?

There is a World of Difference between using the Tangent Ripple Vs. a single tracker ball when completing White Balance, Lift-Gamma-Gain and Color grading. One Tracker ball will not suffice or compare when actually doing the work.

Does this work well with final cut X

Most FCPX users of this board use the Color Finale plugin (from ColorGradingCentral.com) to drive it. Color Finale provides a more industry-standard color-grading interface (three color wheels and sliders) for FCPX. Does it work with adobe premiere on the mac? Specifically the lumetri color correction effect?

It does work in Lumetri in Premiere Pro. I can control up to six parameters with a sweep of the palm or fingers (the three Track Balls and the three Scroll Wheels).
