9.7 oz bag says equivalent to 5 lbs of sugar but back of bag says 1 cup sugar = 1 cup splenda. What am I missing here?

No fat but it’s 96 Calories per Cup and has 24 g Carbohydrates Per Cup. Hard to believe because they advertise “No Calorie Sweetener”. Misleading and sleazy but surprisingly legal because the rule is if a serving (Splenda uses 1 Teaspoon) is less than 5 calories then it’s okay to advertise 0 calories. I didn’t believe it either, check the facts.

How many cups in the 9.7 ounce bag?

tl:dr 11.4 Cups 1cup = 48 tsp. 1 serving = 2 tsp, with 275 servings per bag 550 tsp bag = ~11.4 cups plus or minus a bit if you don't do a level cup every time.

Is this exactly the same as the Splenda in the packets?

No, they have a slight difference. According to the web and a response from several years ago, "The Splenda that is sold in single-serving packets is not exactly the same as this Splenda that is sold in bulk. The bulk Splenda (this item) is composed of maltodextrin and sucralose. The Splenda in packets is composed of dextrose, maltodextrin, and sucralose." I hope this answers your question.

Can this be used in baking?

Yes, I've used it but sometimes I decrease the amount a bit. I believe there is a Splenda product specially for cooking/baking.

We use this product on a regular basis. It is a kitchen staple in our home. There are 3 people in our home with blood sugar issues. 2 diabetics and one with hypoglycemia. And it works for all of them!
