Men’s XA PRO 3D Gore-Tex Waterproof Trail Running Shoes

I love these shoes. I bought multiple pairs (black) in 2024 just incase they stopped making them, or they ran out of my size. They fit so well. They are super comfortable, and so lightweight. They breath really well too, I don't want warm shoes as I live in the South East and it's hot enough all year round. I work on my feet all day and I never have sore feet. Each pair has last for about a year. I love the lacing system. They look super sharp. I think that they easily are a great shoe for the money. I have never slipped and I have worn them in some extreme situations. I will be buying a few more pairs just to have for the future. One last note. The only thing that I don't like. The inner sleeve where the heel meets the back of the shoe always gets a hole and wears out super fast. It probably has to do with the way I put them on and take them off. So that's not the shoes fault, just a small gripe.

Love the support, color and fact I can put them on, head straight work and my feet feel amazing after 12 hours of standing, running and walking all night.

These shoes are the only ones I buy. The support and lacing system is great.

I had my first run in with Salomon products in Europe when I decided to try skiing out. Everything was a rental from the boots (Salomon SX91, the bindings were Marker and the skis were K2) The boots fit like a glove and there were no pressure points at all on my feet. Forward to 2024, I ordered these XA PRO 3D Gore-Tex Trail Running Shoes to try on because the brand I was going with for my duty footwear kept changing their design and they finally ran out of the model that I liked so I figured I'd try these out. Amazon has this "try before you buy" program so I decided to go that route. These shoes are designed for on-road and off-road as they have an aggressive lug sole that is comfortable and a reassuring grip. The shoe is built well and has a comfortable sole. The lacing system is different and it didn't take long for me to like the speed lacing system that Salomon uses for their shoes. These shoes do need a bit of a break-in, about three days. I was impressed with this pair that I bought another pair to switch up for my uniform. Mar 31,2024 (update) I've had these (I bought 2 pairs) shoes now just short of 2 months and daily wear and I have to admit, other than the fact that it's a little on the small side (it broke in really well) I am still happy with my purchase and they're holding up well.

These shoes are great. 2nd pair I’ve bought since the last ones lasted over 3 years. Only reason I bought another pair is that the shoe ties wore out so I’m sure the old ones were good for another year if the ties had held up. And yes….completely waterproof. I’ve seen my share of sizable puddles😁

Bought the Trail Runners 2 weeks ago. I have flat feet and one foot is a little larger than the other. I have a hard time finding comfortable shoes. I wear size 13 and I ordered the 13M. The length is perfect. My heals slip a little but I don’t see that as a problem. I don’t even notice it any more. My toes have plenty of room to move. The first day I wore them I removed the insole and the underside was wet to the touch as well as the inside bottom of the sole. I replaced the factory insole with a Dr Scholls insole. So far there is no wetness. I’m planning on using these shoes for my 500 mile Camino walk. I’m sure at the end of a days hike my feet will be hot and damp. I did part of the Camino 2 years ago (same shoe but an earlier version) and my size 12 was a little to small but I managed. No blisters or any other problems. I’ve heard others say the sides of the shoe is to high and hits the ankle. The shoe is a little higher but it has not caused a problem for me. In fact I like the higher sides. Better support. The shoe is a little hot but that is a good thing when the temperature is cooler. The Dr Scholls insole seems to have helped with the heat. I don’t notice it now as I did with the factory insole. The soles are a knoby verses the soles on my previous pair. See photo. Good grip. I really like the shoe lace. I’ve never seen this kind before. It’s a very thin one piece nylon lace. No tying. Just pull them up tight and adjust the gripper down. Very nice. I don’t know what you’d do if they broke. Another comment was that they squeak when you walk. They did squeak when they first came out of the box but no more squeaking once you’ve used them. I have not used them in wet conditions but I have faith they will keep my feet dry. I can’t wait to get on the Camino. The trail runners feel and fit great.

I had an earlier version of this shoe, and I often would call it one of the best shoes ever made. But, two seemingly minor changes have rendered this shoe unwearable, and I returned them. I must ask, does anyone at Salomon actually use the product? My guess is no way, else they would not have made these changes. First, the more minor issue is a change to the tongue. Hard to explain, but the tongue is attached to the shoe up until the final cross of the laces, then it "free floats". So, the top part of the tongue does not stay pressed against the foot and instead just flaps around like a useless piece of material hanging out of the top of the shoe. Second, and the real deal breaker, Why oh why on earth did you create this non symmetrical lace and who thought it is was a winning idea? Seriously, the eyelets for the laces are asymmetrical and so when you tighten them, they put this ridiculous undo pressure across the top of your big toe right where your foot bends with each step. If you actually walk with these shoes for any length of time, you will find them to be the most uncomfortable shoe. Period. There is no way Salomon tested or received feedback from actual customers before selling these shoes. Please, put them back the way they were.

Extremely frustrated. Until now the Salomon Goretex XA Pro shoes have been my favorite and preferred shoe for an every day activewear. Thus when my 2rd consecutive pair wore out I ordered another pair of the same XA Pro shoe, in the same exact size, eagerly looking forward to their arrival just in time to break them in a week prior to my vacation (now). I ordered the same USA men's size 11.5 I have had in my two previous extremely comfortable, right-out-of-the-box XA Pro shoes. Unfortunately it is absolutely evident these shoes were mistagged somewhere in the pipeline as they are clearly a half size smaller in the toe box from both my previous 11.5 XA Pros! I initially chalked up the tight fit in the toe box to requiring some standard breaking in time, however after just one day's wear I'm extremely frustrated with my first Amazon shoe purchase ever. These are not the right size shoe for that which they are tagged as my bigger left foot big toe is banging against the hard rubber of the toe causing cramping (& I fear potentially hammertoe could develop if I continue wearing them). Is this a Salomon error, an Amazon thing, a day of the week manufacturing error? This was a big $ purchase for me as well as a self birthday present that I've looked forward to buying for many months. Given that I was buying the same shoe model in the same size I didn't think I needed to pay extra for free returns. Though at this point I have a pair of nice looking door stops (thanks Salomon). Having bought both previous pair of Salomon shoes direct from REI w/ zero issues I know not what recourse I have to remedy this situation aside from never buying another shoe from Amazon & cancelling my Prime account (for which the convenience of prime ordering was what convinced me to buy these shoes from Amazon in the first place) the minute I return home from my vacation. Without some way to remedy this situation I will definitely think twice before I ever buy any shoe via Amazon. Other than the inaccurate fit of this shoe the shoe looks nice and seems functional, although I must say if the shoe is inaccurately sized then I am left to wonder what else might be less than upfront about this shoe. Having not ever returned anything to Amazon - I will update this review once I figure if possible to return these shoes and receive the correct fit. All new to me.

It was used for trail runs and found enhanced confidence and comfort, and goretex material lived up to its reputation making small puddles inconsequential. Although some Pasting of the sole came off in 20 days. However proactive after sales team did replace prompltly.

They are great shoes

Quite high quality hiking shoes that working well on the rocky and slopy trails. However, even its written that its designated for summer period, in fact it feels uncomfortably warm with outside temperatures above plus 20 degrees Celsius. I have chosen my usual size and it fitted well initially. However, during the intense use, the hard front tip creates a feeling of tight compression that is not very comfortable.

Comode, stabili e con un grip eccellente, trasmettono subito una sensazione di robustezza e sicurezza. La membrana Gore-Tex mantiene i piedi asciutti anche con pioggia o terreni umidi, senza rinunciare al comfort. Ottime sia per il trail running sia per le escursioni. Un acquisto che vale ogni euro.
