I ordered these to replace the OEM handles on my 1998 Tacoma Prerunner. They fit great, are easy to install, and operate really well. I would definitely recommend buying the metal handles. They have a really good weight and feel very sturdy. When they came, I was initially disappointed because one of the plastic clips was broken. I emailed the manufacturer using their website form, and someone got back to me within a day. The customer service rep shipped me a set of the plastic handles so I could use the clips no questions asked, and I received them in a day. Excellent product, and even better customer service!

Exact fit. You can feel the weight difference between the standard plastic. Hinge and action are very smooth, you can feel th quality when you touch it. This will probably last forever

I ordered these replacement doorhandles when, after 23 years, the orginals broke in a cold spell. A hidden plastic piece snapped in half when the door was frozen at -27ºF. I was pleasantly surprised to see this integral piece of the handle was also made of metal and it felt re-assuring that it might last longer. I watched some online videos to install it and it went smoothly, but there were no instructions included with the packaging. Hopefully I don't have to buy these again, but after 3 weeks of use I am satisfied! Ill be sure to update if they break or don't function well in the future.

Pay the extra for the metal ones if you don’t want to be replacing these every year or so. They are great quality and fit perfectly on my son’s 1996 Toyota Tacoma. Easy to install, look and feel great. High quality and durable.

Edit May724 - I’ve now installed these handles and they feel great. I am super pleased. Definitely makes the vehicle feel a bit more premium. The truck should have come from factory with these handles. Install was easy and came with all the necessary pieces for the exterior handle. However, I would suggest not breaking any of the little plastic pieces of the handle being replaced in case you need extra. Double check that all pieces came with your purchase before yanking the stuff apart. Lube up what needs to be lubed with silicone. I am giving 4 stars as of now but will edit to 5 after they have been used for a while. Installed on a Black Sand Pearl 2003 Tacoma Double Cab DLX (4A body style). ——— Old review: Item seems to be of decent design. Unfortunately my first purchase was lost and I waited almost two months before I got my money back. Second order showed up the next day.
