windows 7 compatible?

Yes. I've been using it with my Windows 7 machine for over 2½ years.

Replacing mouse but not keyboard. can this work with the kensington slim type wireless keyboard (k72344us) nano?

Hi, sorry that this nano receiver won't be compatible with slim type wireless keyboard. Thank you for your question.

Does the scroll wheel tilt side to side for horizontal scrolling?

No. It only clicks downward. That action may be assignable though. On mine it is the same as left-click.

CAn it be used with a Mac?

Dont see why not as its USB. The little adapter in the picture shows the USB adapter you leave plugged in to the computer.
