Sakura Gelly Roll Gel Pens, Assorted, Pen Storage Case - 74 Pack

I have bought many different brands of gel pens for drawing, using with a spirograph and doodling on black paper, and the Sakura Gelly Roll pens are the only ones that consistently show up beautifully and boldly on black paper. I use them for coloring and journaling as well. I have not experienced any significant bleed through, globs or skipping yet. They have lived up to the "ice cream smooth" motto so far! These pens come in a sturdy plastic case, divided into six compartments.It also comes with a color chart that you color in yourself, with the names/numbers of each color. You can tell which pens are which at a glance as either the name/size is written on the pen, and the caps are coded as well. For example, the Moonlight pens have a small moon and star on the cap, and the Starlight pens have a shooting star. Such a cute detail (and one of the many reasons I adore Japanese designed products)! This set contains: Metallic - 14 different colored gel pens. They have a beautiful matte metallic sheen to them. Look lovely on black paper. Classic - 17 gel pens, 11 are medium point, 6 are fine point (duplicate colors). These are just normal gel ink colors, hence classic. Moonlight -20 gel pens, 10 are medium,10 are fine. Only 10 colors, so duplicates but you get the two line sizes. These are amazing neon and pastel colors that are super creamy and pop like wild on black paper. They also glow under black light. So cool! These are my favorite of all the Gelly Rolls. Stardust - 13 different colored glitter gel pens. Hands down the BEST glitter gel pens ever made. If you have a soft spot for glitter gel pens, you must add these to your collection. You can buy them separately from this set, which is great for just starting your future Gelly Roll addiction. These also look awesome on black paper. Silver & Gold Shadow - 10 gel pens, 5 silver shadow, 5 gold shadow. These are the pens from my childhood, and are pure magic. When you write with them, your lettering transforms with the color of the pen (shadow) around the silver or gold. Just a note - after writing/drawing with this pen, you need to wait a few minutes for the magic to happen :) This is a great set for any fan of gel pens. This 74-piece Gelly Roll gift set does not disappoint! I love that you get almost all of the varieties of Sakura Gelly Roll pens in one awesome set, and for a really great price.

My 90's peeps will understand when I say I REALLY missed the sweet smell of these fantastic gel pens. The last time I owned these was when I was around 6-7 years old. These pens were a writing statement piece when I was a kid. I loved these gel pens and the smoothness and color they brought to each paper I wrote on or colored. Now I know it was weird for me to say that they have a smell, but those who have previously owned these as a kid they will understand that there is a smell to some of these pens. The metallic gelly rolls have this familiar smell I am talking about; if you know what I am talking about, you will truly understand what I mean. Now I have completely forgotten about these pens since I last had them as a kid. I know; shame on me, right? I was recently reminded when I was looking for my 2023 planner. I have switched from a regular planner to a Hobonichi, and I was hunting for the best pen to use for the Hobonichi. I have read that these are only the best to use in the Hobonichi if you are willing to wait for the ink to dry since they do smug when wet. I am eager to take the risk for these spectacular pens ever gifted to planet earth. I usually don't take the time to write product reviews on here, but after using the Gelly Rolls again, I had to stop all that I was doing to tell anyone debating on getting these pens to just do it. I bought the 74 pack. I know it's a hefty price for these pens, but trust me, it's worth every penny to have these pens in your life. Also, try and name a good pen on the market that is worth $1.16 each. No other pen on earth writes as smoothly and beautifully as these do. I honestly can't think of a brand of pen that will bring such vibrant and perfect color to your papers or journals. They don't rip or jump on your paper. It's just a smooth buttery writing session with these sweet little pens. Buy them and don't regret your purchase because this will be the best purchase you have made in a long time.

I am a pen junkie. I have tried many brands over the years. Gelly Roll Pens are my favorite pens for these reasons: 1) The colors are smooth. There is no skipping. The writing experience is pleasurable. 2) The colors are vibrant. They are bright, colorful, saturated pigments. They work on white or black papers. 3) The gel pens are long-lasting. They don't dry up fast like other gel pens. I have put pens away for a year and they still work. Each pen has a lot of ink. 4) The bleed-through is minimal to none on most papers. This particular set is a great value. If you were to buy sets individually, the cost would be much higher. I have also tried the soufflé and glaze variety of gel pens. They are nice and work for specific projects. In this set, you will get some doubles in certain colors. This is because some are fine-point and some are bold. (For example, you receive two "Classic Black" gel pens - one in a fine-point and one in a bolder point.) This set also comes with its own "Create Your Own Gelly Roll Color Chart" in the box. I love this addition. I filled in each bubble and put the pens in the slots lined up with my chart to help me find the pens in this box. I included a few photos of how the shades look on white and on black papers. (They show up a little better on black paper than my photos show.) I feel like the higher price of Gelly Roll pens is totally justified. They are worth the money because they write so well, last so long, and they are fun to use because of the smoooooooth writing experience of the pens. Totally recommend!

I have been an amature artist for many years. I love to draw and to work with colored pencils, markers and pens. Recently I began to experiment with gel pens. And as I came to find out, NOT ALL GEL PENS ARE CREATED EQUAL! In searching them out I have come across some duds for sure, but I have found that "Gelly Roll" brand pens are far and above the average and worth the extra you might pay for the quality!. In doing different types of art, pen "tip" size can be VERY IMPORTANT! One thing I love about this set of pen is that they offer several pens in the same color but in alternated sized tips. Forsome artists, this might be a waste. But if you are working on fine, delicate pictures this is AMAZINGLY CONVENIENT! It is like having different sized paint brushes! The fine tipped selection makes small and delicate work a breeze. Because attention to detail is so important to me, these pens are equivalent to working with a PAINT BRUSH instead of a PEN due to the delicacy you can achieve. That in itself gives you immense control of your work & its quality! The ink is incredibly smooth and consistent. And none of my pens came dried out as I have found with other gel pen sets. These pens also come with a hard plastic case that is perfect for storing, organizing and sorting your pens in whatever way BEST SUITS YOUR NEEDS! Another great little gem was the BACK OF THE LABEL! I know it may sound strange, but the back side of the label has a "legend" for all the pens in the box - with color (name & number) & tip size not only printed on each pen but listed on the legend with a circle next to each color for each corresponding pen(see photo). The legend gives you an instant reference to the EXACT color of YOUR PERSONAL PENS. As anyone that does art knows, even printed color legends can have color inconsistencies, so I found this a wonderful aaddition. (I've actually made my own "legends" in the past, but to have a pre-printed one included was FABULOUS! It took me about an hour to sit and go through all my pens to PROPERLY COMPLETE IT , but WELL WORTH THE EFFORT! Whether you do serious free hand art, hobbyist adult coloring books or just work with gel pens for spare time scrap booking I think that you will be more than pleased with this fabulous set of pens. I hoghly recommend & will be purchasi g more "gelly rolls" in the future!

LOVING my gelly roll set! Here's some info on these... Metallic - 14 metallic colors show up well on both black AND white paper Moonlight - 20 pens - 10ea of 0.3 & 0.5 mm line size - these are opaque and show up well on both black and white paper Stardust - My favorite! - 13 glitter pens - these show up on black paper, but not great, they show up very well on white paper Shadows - 5 gold shadows and 5 silver shadows - How to explain these? Hmmm ok... when you first apply them, they appear as the color you see in the barrel, then as they dry, the gold or silver appears, and the color becomes an undertone. The effect works well on white paper, but on black paper it just appears as gold or silver. and last, but not least, are the Classics - 17 pens - 11 - 0.3 and 6 - 0.5 mm line size. There is only ONE of these that will show up on black paper, and that is the white one. (see photos) These write smoothly, the flow is good, and time-wise, they continue to work. I had gold and silver metallic gel pens that I would only use once a year for xmas cards, and the Gelly Rolls were the only gel pens that still worked every year. I had a box of 48 Fiskars gels that I had to throw out because none of them worked anymore except for the black one. (and yes, I tried all the tricks to revive them) Now here's a tip IF you're obsessively organized: There are 6 sections in which to organize the pens, and I wanted the pens to line up under the proper heading. So, I found that if you put them top to bottom and also stack them that way, all the metallics fit in section 1, The classics in sec 2, Moonlight in sec 3 & 4, Stardust in sec 5, and Shadows in sec 6. One last thing, on the other side of the banner, there's a chart so you can fill in the colors.

The package arrived as scheduled (in an Amazon box). The pens are very nice! I was a little wary because they were so much more expensive than other gel pens. I think I get it, now. 🤗 In fact, my only disappointment about the pens, themselves, is that they only produce 74 colors! One thing I liked right away, is that the package comes with an insert labeled for you to create your own color samples! Convenient! I also liked having more than one line width for some of them. (Might be nice to have that option for all of them, but I wonder if some of the inks might not lend themselves to fine lines?) The “tips” were also useful, and included details that I find useful, such as the fact that although the the ink in the Stardust pens is archival, it is possible that some of the glitter might rub off over time. Speaking of the Stardust pens, they are absolutely the loveliest, most deliciously rich glitter pens I have ever used! Already, I am thinking of refills I will want to order in bulk. Oh, and I am grateful that the colors are clearly numbered and marked! 👼 “Hallelujah!” 👼 The Moonlight pens are a revelation. It seems like other lines that offer similarly bright and opaque colors, struggle with consistent flow from pen to paper. These really make the “Ice Cream Smooth” claim come to life! Two exceptions to the generally high quality: 1. The case. Conceptually, it is great. Mine arrive broken, however. The rear, left, bottom corner has a large, curving crack. The crack gaps under the weight of the pens, and will certainly cause the ones in the first compartment to fall out. 2. One of the Moonlight pink pens lost its cap ball when I opened it. It falls out each time I take the cap off. I believe the balls have an influence on how snugly the caps fit, and the longevity of the pen (because of leaking and/or drying out. Spending this much money on pens is a big deal in my home, and these two issues are disappointing. It is reasonable to expect mechanical soundness.

I bought these at least 10 years ago (picture/swatch is from 2025 though). The colors are still just as vibrant and the ink has only dried out in 6 of the “classic” colors. I use them a few times, put them away for months, then go back to them and they work just as well EVERY time! Yes it may take some rolling to get the ink going if you let them sit for a long time, but only 6 have completely dried out after all these years and I think that’s amazing compared to the lower quality gel pens I’ve bought in the past. I remember beating myself up for the price when I first bought them, but I promise it’s worth it. So many different colors, types, and even thickness. No repeats unless the pen comes in 2 different sizes, then you get both. It also comes with the “Clear” pen and that one is usually sold separately. It’s a great investment because these are the best quality gel pens you can get. (Attached picture is a January 2025 swatch of all except the 6 non-functioning pens. You can see which ones don’t work anymore.)

These Gelly Roll pens are Fantastic! They certainly ARE Gelly Roll brand, and no they don't have the new ball point sealing cap on the nib, but they are full pens and work perfectly without fail. The effects are stunning. The case of pens do not come pre-sorted into the different models, but it is Genius to include a color chart you fill in yourself so can have the initial experience of feeling the smooth flow of ink and see the vivid and animated shimmer or sparkle of added enhancement. Well worth the money. Great packaging (mine came intact and mint condition). Variety is satisfactory to an artist's needs which goes without saying having two points (06 or 08 [fine or medium] tips) is ideal for writing, colouring, shading, and any other detail work one will be showcasing. I wish my phone did better video or focused better on close up shots. But you can see you'll have no regrets on purchasing this set. I'm already picking out other packs from Sakura, like more Moonlight, and the Souflett set as well.

Gelly Rolls are THE best gel pens you can get. They all have smooth flowing ink, don't usually bleed through (see Cons!), don't leave line marks like markers, dry quickly, are long lasting and beautifully designed. Here are my pros and cons for this set, specifically: PROS: - Comes with a colour chart that you fill in, which is handy as some pen caps don't exactly match the ink colour - Has a great variety of colours & effects: 14 Metallic regular tip, 6 fine and 11 regular tip Classic, 10 fine and 10 regular Moonlight, 13 Stardust glitter colours (these are so pretty - my pictures don't do them justice!), 6 Silver Shadow regular tip and 6 Gold Shadow regular tip - The fine-tip pens are really good for detailing and intricate colouring book pages! - The Shadow, Classic and Stardust pens, as well as the fine-tips, are really hard to find in stores - The case is convenient for storage, and the colour chart is stored inside and flips up, making it easy to find which ones you need - The detailing on the pens is amazing - I love the little holographic shooting stars in the Stardust and Shadow caps CONS: - There are 6 compartments in the case, but an uneven amount of pens in each one. If you divide them up by style, it makes it a bit hard to close - I found out the hard way that the Silver Shadow and Gold Shadow BLEED EASILY! I used these on a thinner-paged colouring book and they even bled through the pencil crayon on the other side (See photo) Also, you need to use these on porous paper (thicker, art paper, high quality colouring books) or else the effect doesn't show through - it will just look like metallic silver and the other shade (ie, pink, purple) won't show through - You only get a few fine-tip Classic colours (Pink, Blue, Black, Purple, Red, Royal Blue), whereas with the Moonlight you get a fine and normal tip version of each of colour - I wish the pens had colour names written on them, to make them easier to find, but they are numbered (eg: 39743 is Fluorescent Yellow) Overall, SO worth the price for the high quality and large number of pens you get in this set. Do as I did and ~~treat yo'self~~!! (Honest, unrewarded review - purchased with my own money)

Ordered on Saturday, received it Monday afternoon before 2pm. Thumbs up for the quick delivery. All pens received in perfect working condition. Can’t believe how hard it is to find these pens locally nowadays. The quality is still as good as I remembered from when I was younger. Can’t wait to fill up my bullet journal with these colours and looking forward to all other Gelly Roll pens (Aqualip, Glaze, Soufflé and whole range of 26 Moonlight colours) to arrive soon!
