Legendary
I’ll start by saying I didn’t have high expectations in terms of flavour and extraction. I’ve tried other portable coffee machines before, and they produced a runny coffee that looked more like brown water than a proper espresso. Because of that, I was fully expecting a similar result here and was ready to return it if it didn’t deliver. However, from the very first shot, I completely fell in love with this little device. The coffee it produces is rich and creamy, with a beautiful crema, and the flavour is genuinely impressive—far beyond what I expected from something so compact. After doing a bit of research, I found that using a good burr grinder really helps achieve the best possible extraction, which makes a noticeable difference. On top of that, the Picopresso is incredibly portable and well thought out. All the essential accessories like the tamper, dosing funnel, and spoon, fit neatly within the unit itself, making it easy to carry everything you need in one compact package. Overall, it’s a clever, sleek, and beautifully designed piece of kit that delivers excellent coffee wherever you go (as long as you're able to boil some water).

Fun to use
I haven't had mine long. But I love it so much I bought two! One to keep at work. I'm not a trained barista or massive coffee connoisseur. But I appreciate good coffee. I doubt there is a better way to get a decent espresso shot for cheaper than this. I got my first one on prime day and ended up paying £75. That's really hard to beat. Especially as it's still good value at £119. The Instagram friendly packaging was nice... but completely wasted on me, as it just got ripped open and responsibly sorted into the appropriate bins for disposal ;) I got the IMS basket for it. Maybe it's better... people who know more than me seem to think so, so why not. The original basket definitely fits better, although the IMS works fine despite the awkward fit. I can't speak to how well this will last, there is a lot of plastic, so it could crack I guess, but this doesn't seem to be a thing just yet, looking at other reviews. I think this is a brilliant coffee tool, it allows just the right amount of engagement and experimentation to be intriguing and dare I say, fun to use. I have definitely been able to impress people with the quality of shot this can produce. There is a "but" though... you need a good grinder. It's very sensitive to grind size and quality. You'll be able to squeeze a decent tasting shot either way. But if you're after a decent crema, you need to dial in your grind size. I initially ground too coarse and had no crema, then I ground too fine (Turkish) and it wouldn't push water through, there is a pressure bypass, so it will just cycle water back into the chamber if there is too much pressure in the pump. Then I hit the goldilocks and got some beautiful golden crema. Very happy. I feel like the trick is short, quick pumps to build good, consistent pressure. To sum up, it's pretty affordable (though that's subjective) it's easy to get great results. But if you invest some time and effort, you can really produce some amazing espresso - which can be very rewarding. Making this a great purchase in my opinion.

The GOAT of ultra portable espresso
This produces a barista quality shot. The other Wacaco devices were clearly just dress rehearsals paving the way for this. Faffing with the Mini and the Nano is like playing with toys; this is the grown up portable espresso maker. Very solid, high quality construction producing a reassuringly syrupy and well extracted shot. If the price doesn’t put you off, this is the one you should buy if you want espresso on the go. The packaging is absurdly robust and over engineered. Presumably designed for unboxing videos. The case for the Pico itself looks like a piece of bondage gear. Interesting times but the coffee is good.

Best one under 500£ its surprisingly good for the price
It’s surprisingly good. I have a flair 58 with heating capabilities. It makes as good as coffee as the flair. Specially if you’re only looking for making milk based drinks then it’s the best budget option under 1000£ its sounds surprising but true. It may struggle with light roasts but for darker roasts it’s perfectly fine. Also after heating the chamber for few times it’s get really hot and uncomfortable to hold while making coffee. Sadly I had to return it due to some personal issues but I will for sure get one when it goes on sale.

The best portable espresso device - Ever
The Picopresso is absolute genius and the closest I can get to a portable device that delivers barista quality espresso. I own multiple portable espresso devices and this one leaves them all standing. I also have a pretty hefty espresso setup at home (yes I know a bit sad) and I therefore have high expectations when it comes to my daily shot or two. The Picopresso if used correctly can deliver trully exceptional results. When my home machine went in for its service a few weeks ago I used the Picopresso every day and was more than happy. However ,there are a few howevers. You need a good quality espresso grinder for your (fresh - dark/espresso roast) beans and preferably some scales so that you use the same amount of grind every time. I use approx 15g. You can go up to 18g but thats a matter of taste. Properly tamp the beans with the funnel removed from the basket. Ideally replace the supplied basket with a 51mm full size basket (La Pavoni Europiccola baskets fit) - but only if you are as fussy as me. Most importantly pre-heat every element before you make your coffee otherwise the results are going to be lukewarm. Avoid getting water inside the plunger. There's some great youtube videos out there. It's a bit of a faff when you start but well worth it once you get used to it. I regularly take mine to work with my coffee pre-ground.

Good coffee.
Excessive amount of packaging for a travel friendly product. Box in a box in a box, travel case also gets its own space in the box. The Pico itself makes great coffee. (Needs a bit of dialling in, use AI to help). Bit more fiddly than a standard machine. Not having a basic sleeve for a hot chunk of metal is such an afterthought, chance for the to sell something else to you! Not very consumer friendly. Most of it seems rugged, bit worried about the longevity of the pump part though. Metal rod but covered in plastic which could wear down. Overall, worth the ~£120 price for occasional or travel(ish) coffee.

I mean... wow.
Ive had the minipresso GR gifted a long while ago. It was good, and I did enjoy it. But having to manage overpressure (once I had to dismantle the whole unit as a tiny gasket move off its place).. plus the low 8gr beans espresso capacity, ultimately sent it to the back of the cupboard. The Picopresso is a different beast. Its wow. Regular 17gr capacity. Really easy to build pressure, the only time you have to think of it its in order to match espresso times. Great real crema. Overall a little shorter but girthier than the minipresso. Pair it with scales, a 1zpresso X-Pro grinder, some beans, some sort of portable stove and you have espresso or latte (with a frother) in the mountain tops or on holiday same as at home. Add an ultra lightweight Tetra Drip and some filter papers and you have yourself lots of options. The picopresso really is espresso on the go.

No support from Wacaco
The product makes good coffee while it works. For the first three months, I was really happy with the product. The coffee was good and it was easy enough to use and keep clean. However, after 3 months, the seals in the pump failed resulting in hot water being fired out at your hand as you try to pump coffee. I contacted Amazon who put me straight into Wacaco on 2 March. The return process was convoluted - it could have been handled in a single email but wasn’t. Although, they did eventually agree to replace my product. It’s now 21 March and no replacement has been received. I do have a tracking number which shows that they dragged their heels getting it prepared to ship and then they dragged their heels getting it picked up. Who knows when I will receive it. I guess what upsets me most is that they talk a good game on their website but when it comes down to it, the attitude you get is that they really don’t care.

Kleine Maschine – riesiger Espresso!

Rich in taste
The first experience about the extraction of coffee is that it realy tasted strong and rich... But i got negligible crema and after checking many websites they insist that the grind size of coffe should be superfine for picopresso and the beans should be freshly grind..waiting to do more experiments. The machine ia itself highly portable and all accessories can fit inside the machine. The material is premium. The casing or protective cover is superb.

It works as expected! Awesome!
I have been using picopresso for some months, it works great! It is important to have the ground coffee fine enough and using a scale to measure the espresso weight. I also use the picopresso gauge to measure the pressure. It helped me significantly to correct myself.
