This is absolutely one of the best lenses you can get for in APS C camera. It's basically equivalent to 28-75mm in full frame. With the constant aperture of F/2.8. So it allows a good amount of light in and is great because of the constant aperture, compared to variable ones. The build quality is very nice. It seems pretty well built. Although this is their contemporary series, it still feels premium. One of the best things is the light weight and small size compared to the full frame lenses I used to use. It makes it much more light to carry around, and makes me want to go out and shoot more. Very sharp, with nice Bokeh. Overall, I would give this lens an 8.5/10 or more; probably a solid 9.

For the price it is really good! The quality of images is amazing but don’t expect supreme bokeh if shooting portraits. The autofocus is great along with being very versatile.

Bought this as a good zoom walk around lens for street photography and portrait photography. Love the size of this thing and the f/2.8 aperture. Seems to give me pretty clean results even wide open. There is no image stabilization, so I have to watch my shutter speed on my non-IBIS camera bodies. I have used this on both my A6400 and A7Cii with great results. The main reason I went those two camera bodies is the size of them and how easy it is to pack them for travel and this lens compliments them well. I have the 24-70mm, 18-50mm and 30mm as well as these two bodies and it takes up less space than my old DSLR setup with two lenses. For photographers, this is a great, light weight, affordable lens to have in your kit. The pic shows the size compared to an A7Cii with Sigma 24-70mm f/2.8

Got this specifically for my sony a6000, coming from the sony prime 35mm and 50mm. This lens essentially replaced both and has found a permanent home on my camera. Super sharp photos, so much better than the kit lens. Almost as good as the primes.

As an owner of both the Sigma 30mm f/1.4 and 56mm f/1.4, I got this zoom lens with the intention of using it for travel photography, mostly due to the small size and great quality; but I can now say that it will pretty much be my default lens for most situations. It’s a great upgrade for anyone using the default sony kit lens, with the only caveat being the lack of stabilization. And while not necessarily an upgrade compared to my other sigma lenses in terms of image quality, it definitely is when it comes to practicality. At a constant f/2.8 aperture, the amount of light this little lens can capture is amazing. This will be the lens I keep attached to my camera by default. I still love my f/1.4’s, but unless I am on a low light situation or aiming for the most bokeh I can get, I rather use this amazing lens to gain the flexibility of the 18-50mm focal lengths without having to swap primes all the time.

This has become my primary walking around lens on an a6700. The pictures are sharp, even in low light. The f stop stays where it's set across all focal lengths, just as advertised. 2.8 is enough to get a nice, shallow depth of field when you want it. The focus motor is extremely quiet and is not heard on any videos I've taken. Overall, a superb lens and good value compared to the Sony equivalent.

I have used this lens to do a couple of shoots now so I have a good feel for the image quality. The lens is small, light, and focuses well in both photo and video modes. The image quality is excellent for a zoom lens. You will get about 90% of prime quality. Now, depending on your what your doing with your photos this may be more than good enough but if you want the absolute best quality then you will need to go to primes. It's hard to put my finger on what exactly it's missing but it just doesn't produce the same quality as my primes but for a zoom it does a very good job.

Ideal für Vlogs, Videos oder YouTube! ⸻ ⚙️ Verarbeitung – Kompakt, minimalistisch & hochwertig Für ein f/2.8-Zoomobjektiv ist das Teil extrem klein! Es passt super in jede Tasche und sieht auch auf der Kamera unauffällig und edel aus – schwarz-matt, schlicht, ohne Schnickschnack. Ein kleiner Punkt, der oft erwähnt wird (und stimmt): Zoom- und Fokusring sehen sehr ähnlich aus, da das Design so schlicht gehalten ist. Anfangs greift man evtl. mal daneben – aber ganz ehrlich: Nach 2–3 Einsätzen weiß die Hand ganz automatisch, wo’s langgeht. Weitere Pluspunkte: • Innenzoom – das Objektiv fährt beim Zoomen nicht aus. Sigma 18-50 f2.8 is an awesome lens. Thanks to Clicktech retail pvt. Ltd. who delivered a new untouched lens that was imported in July 26. The lens is very sharp throughout its focal length and it is due to 2.8 all the way from 18-50mm. Low light performance and sharpness is better than Sony kit lens. Although there’s not any IBIS in a6400 and steady shot option may freeze with third party lens yet the tracking and autofocus is superb and smooth. No issues with photographs, yet there could be jitters with the videos. Sometime videos with manageable shake gives better feel and does not make a huge difference if not a vlogger. A gimble might solve the problem. Good bokeh with portraits and awesomely light weight. The lens feels exceptionally good and my new companion for travel photography.
