I purchased the Royal Gourmet PD1300. Upon unboxing the griddle I immediately noticed the surface coating was scratched/peeling in 3 different areas. The product was nicely packed and the box was undamaged so it is highly unlikely that the damage occurred during shipping. I contacted Royal Gourmet by email stating the problem and included a couple of photos. To my amazement, they quickly replied assuring me that they would immediately replace the damaged part. I expected my replacement to to take a couple of weeks to arrive but was surprised that I received it in four days. Again I was disappointed that the replacement griidle was scratched worse that the first one. I immediately contacted them again and I was told that they would contact the warehouse to address the lack of quality control and would ship me a second replacement. This time I was very surprised that it was rushed to me and received it two days after contacting them. I have to say that their customer service is outstanding which is very rare these days. The entire process was smooth and hassle free. They really take responsibility for their products and their customers satisfaction. The griidle itself is great. Assembly was easy only taking me about five minutes. Three knob control is excellent for cooking food that require different temperatures. The cooking surface is smooth and non-stick. It doesn't require seasoning but wiping the surface with oil and a paper towel prior to cooking is preferable. Eggs, no problem. Great for just about any kind of food. The size is perfect for feeding a family of 5 with room to spare. Griidle is a great alternative when you don't feel like firing up your charcoal/wood grill for smaller portions and light and convenient for setting up on a table at the park. Best of all it is easy to clean. Overall great product, will definitely consider their products again when it's time for replacement.

I wanted to use this griddle before writing a review and almost a full month of constant use confirmed my purchase. Customer Service was EXCELLENT when I ran into a small problem with the cooking bed. Set-up was so simple I couldn't believe how quickly I was able to be up and running. I haven't had any problems with sticking that one or two people mentioned because I watched a couple of You tube videos on how to season the griddle top before using it the first time. I think THIS IS A MUST! I have been cooking on it almost daily since it arrived. I even set a pot on one of the burners and steamed corn while cooking hamburgers on the other two. Yes a little of the grease can go outside the grease catcher but from my YouTube viewing almost all of them seem to have this same problem. Just remember to empty it and you should be fine. Last weekend I had a small gathering of 12 people in my backyard and was able to cook burgers made to order side by side and everyone remarked on how quickly it all went. Once you get the hang of things you learn to use the lower cooking spots to your advantage to keep somethings warm while cooking others (also what occurs with most griddles). As you continue to use it the seasoning from prior use seems to add flavor to new meals as you cook. Clean up is a breeze by just sprinkling a little water on it and wiping with paper towels then finishing with a little cooking oil. I especially wanted a counter top version that was easy to move so I could use it while camping. No cooking over a hot stove for me this summer and based on the convenience I may never go back to using my kitchen stove top. Best money you will ever spend!!

Decided 3 Days before We left for a 2 Week Vacation in our RV We wanted a Portable Griddle in addition to the Standard Portable Grill we already had to more easily grill Scallops, Shrimp, Veggies, etc. Ordered this Grill and received 2nd day. Assembled it quickly but didn't have a 20 lb. Propane Tank to Test it out before we left. When we arrived at our Destination, we purchased a Tank. When I attempted to light it, it would not ignite. Being Older, I've had quite a few grills in my time and knew after 30 minutes I had a problem with the griddle. I called Joseph with Royal Gourmet. I truly appreciated his honesty! He told me they had received some griddles recently that had problems with either the Burners and/or the Regulators. Not many Companies are this Honest! They will give you the "Run Around" and maybe offer a suggestion, i. e., "Maybe you crimped the cord and you can get a regulator at a local Hardware Store and try that"! NOPE! Joseph apologized and at first said he would send me a new regulator as that had been the most recent problems. Then he said He would just send me both the Burner and the Regulator. Although somewhere the Regulator got left off the Service Order, the entire Burner arrived at our Campground via Fedex or UPS (Forget Which as We ordered several things during our Vacation). Having been in both the Corporate World and having had a Small Business, I realize Problems occur. But they way Joseph handled this on behalf of Royal Gourmet was exemplary! I want a Large Griddle for our Deck to supplement our conventional Grill. Guess where I'm going to Buy it? BTW, the Griddle now performs wonderfully! Piece of cake to put little Feet on Griddle. And if you set it on an unlevel surface, the Feet "Screw In" so you can adjust as necessary. Griddle Cooking Top is HEAVY As it Should Be! Cast Iron. I seasoned mine. Don't know if it was necessary but did it anyhow! Three Burners and can vary the Heat from Warm to Hot Individually! Great Product! Very good Price! And outstanding Customer Service!

update sept 2021 : initially great unit. Now, 6 months later, the middle burner has some kind of leak and burns very differently that the other two. see picture. Review 6 months ago : Great griddle! With 3 modifications i made to make it way better. I was worried that it would not sear enough to make great smash burgers. I was wrong! The heat is tremendous. It gets to +-500 degrees at low, with three burners on. I made 3 modifications. 1. The grease container does slip out of the unit too easily. Solution : I stuck 2 magnets under the container, so now it actually « clicks » into place. 2 : The grease hole on the griddle IS NOT ALLIGNED with the container under it. Solution : I inserted a small funnel cup under the hole. The grease now trickles perfectly down in the container. 3 : Uneven heating. I read that the front would not heat up enough. Solution : I put copper tape over the back vent holes and on the sides so that heat stays more inside the unit instead of just flowing out too easily when wind picks up. Also, I had a problem at first ; i poured olive oil and heat up the unit to max. The oil turned into a black/deep red gunk, or resin, and stuck to the griddle. I had to use a razor blade to get it off the griddle. Lesson : dont pour oil on the griddle as it is too much and it turns into a resin. Instead, just dip lightly a paper towel in oil and brush the surface. See pictures.

This griddle was easy to assemble. Cooking is a dream, I can’t believe I never had one of these before. Royal Gourmet Is very affordable and a dream to use. Cleanup is easy.

Overall a great product. The enamelled surface on the griddle works well as a non stick. Cleanup is a breeze. I wish they included 2 more nuts for the front levelling posts on the griddle. I added my own. Instructions say not to use on a wooden surface. Cannot use on picnic table? I installed a secondary heat shield. Do not think it needed it. No problems with heat under the griddle. Hooked it up to the house propane system in outside kitchen. Installed an appliance regulator and it works great. I highly recommend this unit. Great value for the dollar.
