This is a brand new surface Ignitor Review: Perfect replacement - Was exactly like first picture.. Installed quick and worked instantly.. Perfect Review: Worth the wait, but not exactly the same as the picture - The Ignitor I received did not look like the one in the picture, BUT I am okay with that. The connector was the same and I personally think the design of what I received may be better. Instead of having the opening on the metal surface, it is solid like some of the other buyers pictures. I’m hoping this resolves the problem I’ve been having with them cracking and no longer working. It was easy to install (no splicing wires like some of the universal types). The length of the metal surface was longer than one I purchased locally that was too short and wouldn’t work. The furnace now fires up on the first attempt instead of the 3rd attempt with the old ignitor. This was also considerably cheaper than the ones I’ve purchased locally and it arrived a day earlier than expected. If you can wait for shipping, I would recommend this part. I’m considering ordering a spare just in case I need another one in the future.

Not an exact visual match but works great
This replaced the burnt out original on my Goodman furnace. It's been going strong for over a month. Here's how I figured out the problem: Error light indicated something wrong with the flame system. I went though the start up sequence and was able to manually fire it with a long lighter. So I cleaned the flame sensor, but no dice. After checking the filter, purge valve, and blower, I removed the old igniter (unscrewed from the housing and gently unclipped the connector) and noticed a white mark with the smallest hairline - a crack. Checked it with my multimeter and sure enough, there was no continuity. Installation took literally a minute and my furnace was making hot air by itself again.

Good replacement igniter for Goodman furnace
Inexpensive replacement for a Goodman gas furnace. Works and fits fine, but be aware the user must ensure clean and tight connect wiring end fittings when replacing the old igniter. This item generates a very low amperage when subjected to flame heat, and the smallest imperfection in the connections and igniter electrical amperage flow to the furnace circuit board will cause the gas furnace ignition process to stop and cause an ignition failure code.

Goodman Furnace Fixed
Ordered yesterday as furnace went out the previous night. Woke up to a cold home. Watched a brief tutorial on my Goodman furnace on YouTube and figured out problem was either igniter or temp rod. Pulled out igniter to clean and it was broken. Ordered ignitor. Received the next day. 5 minute install. Furnace works. Only reason I did not score it 5 stars is that ignitor is slightly different than one pictured as it is not thermally protected wire. I think it should last for a bit however.

Comes in OEM Goodman Box
Item comes snugly packaged in foam within an OEM Goodman box. The connector mated perfectly with my Amana (Goodman) furnace connector and the ignitor is currently functioning flawlessly. The older igniters were thinner and had a central groove, the new one is slightly thicker with no groove. A little research reveals this is an update/upgrade in both design and material, intended to be more durable. I can certainly live with that!

I got a genuine Goodman replacement
A couple days ago my son called to tell me the furnace wasn't working. When I got home I noticed the gas would come on for a few seconds but wouldn't light. I pulled the ignitor connector off and my multimeter showed the 120V came on soon after I turned on the thermostat. We pulled the old ignitor out (one phillips screw) and sure enough the tip was burned out. I ordered this one from amazon, got it the next evening, and in a few minutes my furnace was working again. I have a Janitrol GMT070-3 furnace made by Goodman and the old ignitor was a Norton as shown in the amazon product page, with a slot opening in the middle of the tip. The one we received from seller HVAC Pros was a genuine Goodman replacement with a solid rectangular tip (see attached picture). It came packaged by Goodman in a big box with heavy foam to protect the fragile tip and it works great. It came with the attached wiring and connector only but that's all I needed as it had the same connector as the Norton.

Ignitor looks slightly different than OEM, but so far seems to function properly, box appeared to have been opened, part taken out and put back in, no idea if actually received the updated part or it got substituted, but working ?

This was excellent upgrade to OEM ignitor. The build looks not as flimsy as the OEM one. So far it is performing very well. Would buy this again.
