Well made plastic carrying case that keeps parts where they belong during storage/transport. Hydraulic pump pressure release valve it well positioned and provides tight shutoff, easy release, using minimal effort… quality valve seat. Only complaint is the hydraulic ram/ hose connection fitting is solid, fixed…meaning the ram doesn’t swivel at the hose connection. This adds challenge when repacking and closing the case after use. However, the ram/hose connector fitting can be adjusted, if necessary, for optimal fit. This tool is 33% cost of professional, top-of-the-line, leading competitor. Sacrificing a swivel fitting to save $400 is a no-brainer. Great value and quality product!

Licensed electrical contractor here, honestly very impressed. Works just as good as any other hydraulic knockout sets I’ve had over the years. Snagged this one up based off other reviews and the price that couldn’t be beat, and I’m very happy I did.

This kit is very helpful for light wholes making in a panel box. Worth the money, however, this is NOT for heavy duty electrical work, it will not make it in two big jobs.

I've only cut a few holes, and so far, so good. The holes are easy to cut, clean, and neat. The case I got is different from the one in the listing. With this layout, I imagine it results in a smaller case. However, the tool does not fit in the case. The case can't close all the way. You really have to smash it shut to engage the left latch. You can see in the picture, there's a 3/8" gap that you have to really push hard to close. The latches are not hinged. They are attached with a super thin piece of plastic that allows it to move. As we all know, these "hinges" have a very short lifespan. You can see how white/colorless the hinge point is because the plastic is so thin. I give this case no more than 50 open/close before the latches break off. Probably much less on the left due to having to smash that side shut. I'm already looking for a replacement case because I don't like how the tool doesn't fit, and I really don't think the latches are going to keep it shut for very long. Over all, I gave it 4 stars because the cutter costs much less than name brand versions and is doing an equivalent job of cutting. However, I would have paid a bit more for a better case. Had I known one of the other off brand tools had a better case, I would have gone with that one.UPDATE: So far, still good. It's cut all of the holes we've needed so far. This tool doesn't see a lot of use with us, so I can't speak for it's long term durability yet. The only problem we've found is it seems like the pump valve sticks open sometimes. We will pump and pump, but it never compresses the cutters. They will get tight, but won't cut. We have to open/close the release valve, and just keep trying. Eventually, it will start cutting. Once it starts, we don't have the problem again and can cut many holes. As stated, we don't use it a lot, so there are times where it will sit for months with no use. It's after these long hibernation periods that it has the issue. But since it eventually starts working, I'm keeping the rating high. -1 because of the issue though.Also, the case is holding up. Due to low use, we haven't hit the 50 open/closes yet! But the hinge is still holding for now. I didn't find a new case as it just wasn't a priority. Rest assured, when it goes, I WILL be back to post about it!

This knockout punch is functional in that I was able to punch circular holes in 16 gauge steel. However, the punch and dies were wacky sizes that did not correspond to their markings. The punch/die marked 1/2" actually punched 22 mm holes. The punch/die marked 3/4" actually punched 28 mm holes. The punch/die marked 1" actually punched 34.5 mm holes. The punch/die marked 1-1/4" actually punched 43 mm holes. The punch/die marked 1-1/2" actually punched 49.5 mm holes. The punch/die marked 2" actually punched 57 mm holes. So it's not useful if you need holes punched with specific diameters. The instructions had no photos or diagrams and were written by a non-English speaker. But the punch itself worked OK.

I’ve been doing electrical for 20 years and have always used greenlee. I saw this last week on Amazon for 120$ CAN, did a bit of research, found nothing but decent reviews and decided to order it. Arrived today, knocked out about 20 holes from 1/2” to 2” and the knockout performed flawlessly. I would recommend this tool.

Its good for the price, just wish there was a 1 year warranty ( It started leaking oil after 7 months )
