I don't usually write reviews on Amazon but I had to for this one. I was looking for a free play Lego box for my 5 year old and was disappointed to hear some boxes come with too few pieces and many small pieces. This one is decent. Enough big pieces and enough small pieces. There are a lot of pieces enough to keep my daughter occupied for long. We use them with wheels too.

Lots of pieces, but most aren’t on the list of pieces you’ll use often.

It's an amazing box of LEGO! Awesome stuff! Lots of fun. I got my kids one of those "Lego" inspired books to go with this, to give them ideas on things to make.. my son has been busy making boxes, faces, gumball machines.. all kinds of awesome stuff. Wish I had had legos when I was a kid!

Good price per brick, but you need to know three things: (1) No instructions of any kind exist for this box. Not in the box, not online, nowhere. The box deceptively suggests you visit Lego's website for "ideas." But the only thing on the website for this set is a statement that the pictures on the outside of the box comprise the "ideas." (2) Even if you are willing to figure out how to build each "idea" yourself, there are few brick types common to multiple projects that are not provided in sufficient quantities to build them all at the same time!! You'd need about 50-80 extra of these critical pieces to build them all. (3) There seem to be several hundred extra pieces required by none of the projects, which are effectively just filler. The lack of instructions is perhaps tolerable given the low price, but the insufficient quantities of a few common bricks is unforgivable, especially when they added a bunch of filler pieces that you don't need.

Not a lot of "special" pieces, but definitely one of a the cheapest-by-piece boxes out there, and there's a LOT of them (1600!) Wanted this for my 6yo so he can just build what ever he wants/can imagine rather than following a set route like most other Lego boxes. Note that the box states "ONLY AT TOYS R US" but is being sold by other vendors. You can get this for $59.99 at Toys R Us' website

We gave this to our 9 year old Granddaughter. She is a lego nut and makes all kinds of interesting things out of them.

I wanted these to add to the collection I have already. Not too many small pieces which I have found to be the case in other sets. Would buy again.

Being a lego fan and having multiple sets, I was looking for a box with tons of generic bricks to enable larger creations. And this box exactly fits the bill. It has 1600 bricks most of which are larger bricks in basic colors. It is good for:- 1. As a starter kit for children who would love bright colors and larger bricks 2. As an add-on kit to fill-in your other creations Be aware that you will NOT get any "special" pieces with this one - basically no wheels, plant pieces, minifigs or tecnic pieces. You may want to buy other creative boxes that come in plastic containers if you are looking for more complicated builds.

If someone in your family loves LEGO and likes to do their own building this is a present sure to please.

Its amazing product... gives a lot of lego pieces without much extras... good for an avid builder who wants more lego pieces than any specific shapes... Worth it
