IKTCH Range Hood Insert 42 inch 900 CFM, Stainless Steel Vent Hood

I rarely ever write reviews for anything cause i just don't have the time, but iKTCH's product support has impressed me so much that I've got to add my two cents here. I bought this range hood a little over 2 years ago and installed it myself above a new 36" 5-burner gas range while remodeling my kitchen. The kitchen originally had a down-draft vent that didn't work well so I custom built the walnut hood cover to fit this new range vent. Since I didn't have an existing hood, I can't say how easily this unit would fit/swap if you do have an existing hood, but it was easy enough to install as new. We cook on the gas range almost every day and it never has a problem quickly venting even the strongest cooking odors like frying fish or searing steak. Its easy to clean, powerful, adjustable, and the remote and motion controls work great. It has worked great for the last 2 years! Until last weekend....when it wouldn't turn on, and this is the most important part of my review. Any company can build a product that works great, but how a company supports their product when you have an issue is what builds their reputation and earns my repeat business. I immediately emailed the seller via the link in my Amazon order history and described the problem. Because they're based in China, the email I sent to iKTCH support was received at 3am Chinese time. Not even (7) hours later, I received a response asking a question about the symptoms and offering to ship me a replacement part at no cost. I replied and provided my address, they shipped the part, and since they keep stock at an Amazon warehouse close to me, I received it the next day. I installed the part the next day, which took a screw driver and about 15 minutes, but unfortunately it didn't fix the issue. I replied and let them know, and they immediately shipped another part for free that I received the next day. Now everything is working great again! Through the whole process, I was corresponding on one email thread with the same person, Mary, who was very courteous and responsive. If you've ever had to deal with another company that requires you to call in, sit on hold, "create a service ticket", and do that all over again with a new person to explain everything to them over and over, it really makes you appreciate how fast and easy it is to correspond with iKTCH support. Let alone the fact that despite being out of the stated warranty period, they quickly sent me parts at no cost. I've spent more money on on products from well-known brands and have not nearly received this level of commitment from them to support their products. Simply because they stand behind their products when an issue arises, I would highly recommend iKTCH to anyone.

Overall I am very pleased with the hood. It looks beautiful, was easy to install, and draws a good amount of air at all speeds to be highly effective at clearing steam and cooking odors while using my cooktop. I did have some issues with the touch screen responsiveness at first but after using it for a couple weeks it works perfectly fine now…..I don’t know if I got better at using it or if the touchscreen got more responsive with use but whatever it was, it works great. The hand swiping is a different story. The height of my installation makes the swiping awkward and not very effective. I didn’t buy this hood to use the swiping so it doesn’t matter to me. The included remote works great and is another big plus. The hood on the lowest setting is still not as quiet as my previous hood and that is a bit disappointing but because it is so effective I am willing to overlook that inconvenience. Finally, customer service has been great. When I was having trouble with the touch screen early on, my emails were always responded to in a timely manner. Overall, I’m glad I purchased this hood and would buy it again.

This range hood was easy to install inside my new over-stove hood cabinet, but you’ll need to cut out the proper opening first—so double-check the dimensions and make sure your cabinet and hood setup can accommodate it. Once the cutout was done, the fit was perfect and the rest of the install went smoothly. The stainless steel looks sharp, the build quality feels solid, and the 900 CFM suction really moves air. Smoke, steam, and cooking odors clear out quickly, even during high-heat cooking. The LED lights are bright and even, and the baffle filters slide out easily for cleaning. Noise is low on the first two settings and totally reasonable on high given the power. It’s also an Amazon’s Choice product, and it makes sense—most buyers keep it rather than return it, and after installing and using it myself, I can see why. Overall, it’s a strong, reliable insert that performs exactly as advertised. Highly recommended.

Beautiful range hood. Fan is very quiet and efficient for heat and smoke control. The unit was not difficult to install. The led lights highlight the stove very well. The unit is very industrial looking, great for modern kitchens! It is a great value for the money. I definitely will purchase another in the future!

My wife and I love this exhaust fan. I would have given it a 5 star rating if the hands free feature worked as outlined and consistently. From the images you can see we applied this to an island gas cook-top so we covered it with wood planking to match the ceiling and cabinets. The fan on the IKB02-36 inch model is very powerful and quiet compared to our older in-counter exhaust fan. The 2 lights are bright and easy to turn on/off. The unit comes with a small remote that works well. The material is high quality stainless and the filters are easy to remove for cleaning. Pros - Strong fan with 4 speed settings, the higher the suction the louder it gets of course, keeps smoke, smells, steam to a minimum. - Bright lights (2) make cooking easier under the hood, I was worried with just 2 lights but they are great. - Very quiet on the lowest 2 settings and our contractor measured the distance from countertop to hood to ensure optimal exhaust and these are great for simmering and stewing, open frying will need the louder settings. - 36" model has 3 filters that can be removed and cleaned in the dishwasher! - Has timer so you can set it up to turn off shortly after to get rid of any smells/steam while eating. - Comes with a remote that works well but isn't always useful when cooking. - Great price compared to other options from big-box stores and specialty stores (Amazon let us delivery directly to our contractor. Cons - Hand gestures works from time to time but isn't consistent and becomes too frustrating to use. We tried waving slow, fast, at stove-top level at hood level, sometimes it turns on when cleaning but seldom when cooking. - Comes with just basic items needed for installation, we needed ducting, elbows (don't get 90 degree elbows), vent cover for home exterior, etc. As we included this with home remodel work the contractor took care of it all. Conclusions - I would buy this again if needed and would highly suggest to family/friends over some bigger brand name options. - Impressed with power and features and despite the hands free being disappointing in practice the overall installation and functions are very well. - Quiet at lower speeds and with a timer it makes cooking in an open concept home much more pleasing as it keeps smells and steam to a manageable level.

We have had this hood for over three years, and we have been very happy with it. It works great. Recently, we had an issue with the remote, so we contacted the seller to buy a replacement. The seller offered a free remote, including free shipping by FedEx. Great product, and even greater customer service! Couldn't have asked for better.

I love this exhaust fan, but disappointed the gesture sensing function doesn't work. Otherwise I would give it five stars. It's powerful and provides ample light. The fan has four speeds and gets louder as power is increased. Don't they all, though?? The remote control is a nice feature as well. Not sure how well it cleans up since it's still new. It was installed by my contractor five months after I purchased it, hence the return window closed. ( The hood was on back order). My recommendation is to order closer to installation date in case of any problems. UPDATE: It turns out the hand gesture feature does work. After reading other reviews, I contacted IKTCH customer service and Emma responded right away. She provided instructions and bingo! I was impressed by Emma's quick responses and follow up. It's refreshing to experience outstanding customer service. It's been a while.

I’m really happy with this range hood. I built the enclosure myself, and this insert fit perfectly, looks super sleek and modern with the stainless steel finish. Totally gave my kitchen a more high-end feel. It’s powerful but still pretty quiet, and it clears out smoke and odors quickly. The LED lights are bright and super helpful when cooking, and the filters are easy to remove and toss in the dishwasher. I had a quick question during installation and reached out to their support team and they got back to me fast and were really helpful, which I really appreciated. Overall, it works great, looks amazing, and the customer service was top-notch. Definitely recommend!

I am extremely impressed with the quality and performance of this range hood. The installation was straightforward. It is incredibly powerful at removing smoke and cooking odors while remaining quiet. I was initially hesitant about buying a range hood with a hand gesture control feature because I wasn't sure how well it would work. I'm happy to say it exceeded my expectations! The gesture controls are responsive, convenient and much more useful than I expected. I would definitely recommend it to anyone looking for a powerful, quiet and well-designed range hood.

The unit is easy to install (we exhaust through a 6in round aluminum flex pipe converted to a rectangular 3 1/2 x 10in ducting to our garage roof. Total length about 15ft of pipe+duct). The gesture function is really practical and easy to use. Amazingly quite on max speed 4. Lighting is bright and a warm white colour (slightly yellowish) which is easy on the eyes. It easily sucks a Kleenex tissue to the filters. The steel filters (baffles) go on easily, so it should be a breeze to remove them and regularly wash them in the dishwasher. Solid construction with no issues. The motor seems well built out of aluminum so minimal heat retention. Cons: Instructions were relatively complete, however, I would have appreciated a clearer picture of how the filter baffles bar gets installed. Had to spend 10 minutes trying to figure it out. Still not sure if I installed it correctly. But everything works great. Next, there is a clear plastic tray type of component that I have no idea where to install this. What is its purpose? Conclusion: After one day of use, we love it! The house air seems fresher and the sound is really not loud. On full speed 4, we could keep it running and not have to raise our voices or drive everyone nuts! Great buy so far! Well worth the $400 cdn.

Easy installation, well packaged, quick delivery, very powerful and quiet range insert. Looks awesome and provides all functions. Hand motion works great as does the remote. I was initially concerned on only two lights versus three - but they are bright and provide dimming function. Awesome product and definitely recommend over big box solutions.

Good looking hood. Pretty quiet on the low setting, but noisy when going full speed. While massive suction at 900cfm, hood needs to be mounted close to range top to draw in all fumes from cooking. We build the hood into a lowered ceiling above a cooking island. With the design not the easiest to clean and with the grease, the hood does should lots of smudges.

We absolutely love this range hood. Great value. It’s very powerful and works just as well as previous much more expensive range insert at our last house. The light is a nice warm white, and is very cozy to have on at night time. I personally don’t use the remote because it’s just another thing to be laying around, but it does work well. I would repurchase again. My husband installed it without any issues, and it doesn’t an excellent job of reducing steam from your cooking.
