I just bought the tumble trak pro bar. do i need this for my twin 6 year old 47'' gymnasts? what moves/ things is it helpful for? thanks

We have this for our 5 yr old gymnast. She does not like it -- it does not spin easily and the pad feels too thick compared to what she was used to at the gym. (Even working on back hip circles, she chose to practice without the pad) If you have friends who might play on the bar (and who are not gymnasts), then it is a good piece to have -- but it isnt absolutely necessary, in my opinion.

The bar pad can be used on gymnastics bars, uneven bars or parallel bars. It is a soft cushion that is wrapped around the bar and has velcro to secure it. It helps your gymnast to not be afraid to hit the bar so hard when learning new skills.

Great Gymnastics Bar Pad

Easy to put on and take off. Protects children's hips and is perfect for toddler sizes. Fit the bar perfectly and the Velcro was very secure.

Well made but a bit bulky

It is perfect for older kids. My daughters are 4 and 2 and the 4 year old is working on casting and back hip circles. She complains about her hips banging on the bar but when this is on she can hardly cast at all because it pushes her so far off the bar- BUT that is only because she is so little. For older gymnasts starting out this should be perfect. It stays on well yet comes off easily. It slides off to the side when not in use. It rolls around the bar well when doing flips. Good product- just a little large for my mini gymnasts!
