The ONLY thing I think could be improved (especially for us older folks) is to make the fill lines more than raised, they're hard to see, so a colored line would help. I also suggest measuring your water first into the measuring bowl, then measure the other ingredients, it's gets a little messy putting all the ingredients at once. You use 1/2 of the mix each time, so you can have a single layer, and save the other half for later, or have a 2 layer cake! I used a Walmart Devil's Food Cake Mix and it was great! I've got the Fasta Pasta and it's wonderful and will receive my Quick Brownie Maker tomorrow - I can't wait!! Review: A few things I didn't expect - This is a cool product! It works as described but I'd like to clarify a few things: - This doesn't make a full-sized cake. That is to say you won't use an entire cake mix package. It only seems to use about half a box. - The cake's I've made have been kind of flat. About 3 inches tall or so. Used a devils food mix thinking it might be fluffier but had the same result. - On top of being flat the cakes I've made have been denser and less fluffy than a cake cooked in a regular pan. Kind of like a sponge cake is the best way I can describe it. Having said that I am still happy with the product! It still makes a pretty delicious cake in less time. Get creative and make 2 and layer them up. My boyfriend added red food coloring to a vanilla mix and made a double-layer cake for Valentine's day. Having less cake can be a good thing too if you are just making it for one or two people. It slides out of the pan onto a plate with ease and cleans up easily. I've suggested it to friends and if you are on the fence I'd say go for it.

Questionable
I’m currently staying somewhere that only has a microwave to cook with. But I miss having a full kitchen so I searched for different ways to make what I wanted in the microwave. That’s when I came across this. I was spectacle if it would work however. But I figured I’d give it a try because of the ratings and pure curiosity. I’m so glad I did too. It did take more than the 4 minutes it said it took, but only 2 more minutes. In a total of 6 minutes I had a full size, fully cooked, moist, fluffy cake cooling on a plate just waiting to be frosted. This is a great, time saving, easy to clean product that seems like it will be good for years to come.

I thought it might taste funny. Nope
I thought it would be unevenly cooked. Nope. It cooked through really well. I thought it might taste funny. Nope. It tasted just like the Betty Crocker Cake is supposed to taste. It was super easy to use and very easy clean up. The cake popped right out of the bowl after cooking. It wasn't a work of art (it raised slightly unevenly and the surface texture was smooth in places and revealed the fluffy insides just a little in places), but if you have a can of frosting you can finish it really nice. It uses up half of the cake mix, so you can bake a second cake (while you are frosting the first one) and then pop the second one on top of the first one and you have a double decker cake in about 15 minutes, including frosting time. Don't forget the candles and you can have an instant birthday party. I was really surprised at how easy it was to use. Even if I have an oven available, I didn't have to wait for pre-heating and only one dish to clean. and no measuring cups needed. Perfect for dormatories..

Almost magic
Does exactly as it says. Works very well. Only real issue is that the cake will taste slightly off. It's not bad, just a quirk of being microwaved.

Best cake maker ever!!!
Unbelievable... This makes the perfect size cake for a small family. In seven minutes, start to finish, you have a delicious cake. I live by myself so I will be using this a lot. Someone was stopping by my place the other day. It was their birthday. Within minutes I had a cake baked and frosted for them. Amazing. And clean up is a breeze.

Arrived Broken
I received the item a few months ago. Just went to try it out for the first time and noticed a huge piece was broken off. What a waste.

Microwave cake maker
The cake tasted ok but I had to put ii back in the microwave a couple times because it was not done in the middle. I will still use it but aware that it takes longer to cook a cake than it claims.
