My cats are leaving it alone!
I wanted a tree that would dissuade the cats from climbing. The branches are dense and the pvc needles are quite a deterrent. The tree is beautiful.

I will not buy a tree from Balsam Hill again ... here's why ...
My rating is not less than two stars, only because the tree looks very nice when it works. However, the quality of the lights are questionable and the customer service is a joke. I will not go into details about the first call other than I spent more than 25 minutes with a person who did not know the difference between the light set socket and the tree pole. Very frustrating. When I asked if there was someone else I could talk to she indicated that she did not know how to transfer me to another and she was just stuck. So thanked her, hung up and dialed back.The second person seemed very much more engaged and happy to help. She seemed to know a little about the product too. The issue was with the masterbulb and socket. I tried to remove this to trouble shoot a string that was out. The bulb came out, but the socket did not ... and would not come out. After speaking with another person it was determined that since the master bulb was removed the light string is now dead for ever. As well, because the tree is 4 years old and the light warranty is only 3, then a warranty replacement was not warranted. She was very nice and very sorry but an apology and 4 bucks will only buy a foo foo drink at Starbucks. I did find a way to make the repair myself and ultimately got the string working. However, I WOULD NOT SPEND THE MONEY ON THE BALSAM HILL PRODUCT. Way too much money for an average quality product. Buy a cheap one each year, throw it away and start over. You will be better off financially with less frustration.
