Compact and Reliable
The build is slim, lightweight, and easy to carry around. I’ve used it to watch old DVDs, burn music CDs, and install software on my PC, and it performed without any issues. It’s quiet while running, and the dual USB 3.0/Type-C option makes it very versatile.

Easy to use and compact, great value
Yes! Works as I'd hoped. I also got an interactive disk from my doctor's and this was compatible with it and read the disk. Very happy with this; it was the most affordable option I could find and works great. The cord is short, maybe 6 inches long, so it will need to stay close to whatever you're plugging it in to. The cord also tucks in to the back side so it is very compact. I plugged it in to my computer and the device was recognized immediately so it is also very easy to use. I'd recommend.

Does work but could be a bit confusing for the average user because of it's behavior.
Bought this for a Win 10 PC without an optical drive. Plugged it in and the drive looked like it was being accessed but no drive showed up in the device list in the file explorer like you would normally expect.Steps I tookI opened the tray and unplugged the drive and then plugged it back in (after reading what another user had posted in the comments here about opening the tray and seeing it in the devices) and the drive showed up in the list of devices and stayed there until I placed a disc into the tray and closed it, the device disappeared. With the tray open again, I took a look at the device events through the properties dialog and found this.Device USBSTOR\CdRom&Ven_HL-DT-ST&Prod_DVD+-RW_GTA0N&Rev_A100\572DC3A3736&0 was not migrated due to partial or ambiguous match.Last Device Instance Id: USBSTOR\CdRom&Ven_HP&Prod_Virtual_CD_4607&Rev_2002\574341563553393237363135&1Class Guid: {4d36e965-e325-11ce-bfc1-08002be10318}Location Path:Migration Rank: 0xF000FC000000F120Present: falseStatus: 0xC0000719I searched Google for the message in the events 'was not migrated due to partial or ambiguous match' and found an article that had a solution that worked.AUSLOGICS ARTICLE TITLE: How to fix ‘Device was not migrated due to partial or ambiguous match’?Unplugging and then plugging the drive into a different USB3.0 port (not using the supplied A-to-C adapter) resolved this problem.Odd behavior is that when you eject the disc from the device, it disappears from the device list. Appears that if you don't have media in the tray and it is closed, the system unloads the device until you place a disc in the tray and close it.Patience is required as it takes a few moments to re-enable the device driver and mount the disc in it.After this I was able to insert several different CD's and they mounted and were available to the OS for use as expected although between mounts the device would disappear from the list of devices in the file explorer.Hope this helps others having issues with this drive.

Durable and a great value.
The media could not be loaded. This has now officially gained a place in my laptop bag and is a permanent piece of equipment I take with me everywhere. I made the mistake of thinking that the cloud, streaming, and USB/SSD drives had made the need for a CD ROM a thing of the past... until I needed to use one. I went to two different big box stores and none had any external drives in stock. I ordered this one and it is built great, reads all my CDs and functions just the way I had hoped. Very affordable and the small design makes it easy to use on the road or even at home. A very good value and happy with the product.
