Not really, it tends to just melt away to goop state when exposed to water. A little bit is fine, but not a soaking. Hope this helps.

Is this safe for synthetic wigs?

I would not use it on wigs. It is difficult to get it out of human hair without a good shampooing. I bet synthetic would be much harder.
