The best first-person shooter in a very long time.
I have been a long time COD player, and was very disappointed when it started to get futuristic. After playing the beta, then ultimately buying the game, I have been very pleased with the game.- Graphics are bar none, I'm running an I5-6600k (overclocked to 4.4GHZ) and a GTX 1060 Zotac AMP 6gb (overclocked boost 275MHZ and memory 250MHZ, which could go higher probably). everything on Ultra turned up to the Max I avg. around 90-100 FPS at 1080p. Maps are gorgeous, detailed filled masterpieces. There are a lot of attributes and moving parts to a map, whether it's the train being called in, a blimp or battleships.. it doesn't disappoint.- Gameplay is fantastic, and fun. It's been a disappointing few years where games were solely focused on graphics and lacking gameplay. BF1 has combined both, and is pleasing to play. Hit markers seems pretty good compared to BF4, snipers are extremely useful and accurate vs previous generations. A lot of people complain about the snipers, but in reality it's a two hit weapon unless you get a head shot. you don't get hung up on objects, jumping over things is pretty fast and accurate. the Frostbite Engine has improved greatly as well, compared to playing previous generations.- I do notice packet loss, which I was not experiencing on BF4, so i'm hoping they get that fixed in a few more patches or give us a solution. Although I could take a star away from the character mini freezing every so often, I am not going to. I think it might have to do with my ISP and router/modem a little as well. With everything being so futuristic, flying around double jumping running on walls.. This was a breath of fresh air.I'm happy that Dota2 isn't the only game I enjoy playing on a regular basis now :).

BF4 > BF1
This game just made me fall in love with BF4 again. It looks and sounds great, but I would not recommend this Battlefield if you're on a budget and you already have BF4. Otherwise, it's worth a shot to see how you like it. Additionally, BF1's kits seem a bit dumbed down. I can't comment on the campaign other than the intro mission is pretty decent.

Amazing graphics, but..
This game is a bit harder than BF4 and needs more tactics and more teamwork, but it gets boring after a while with all the old guns and equipment, because most of them seem very similar. In a way the game is limited due to being set during the WW1 (ie: maps, guns, equipment).

The war to end all wars. But is it the FPS to end all FPS's in 2016?
I've been playing Battlefield titles since my PS2 days with Modern Combat and while my fervor and passion for latenight FPS-fests may have dulled, my love for the series certainly hasn't. I had access to the beta for BF1 on my Xbox and found the multiplayer to be a solid mix of classic FPS elements with new gunplay tweaks to account for the historical backdrop in which the game takes place. DICE has always done a solid job of trying to incorporate feedback into patches and they managed to take most of my issues with the beta and work them out before the final release.I've only played the single player a handful of times but I appreciate how it spreads out the campaign out across multiple soldiers fighting on multiple fronts so you get a sense of scale with the war. You're not some super soldier or a lone wolf in powered armor. You're one man fighting your battle in "the war to end all wars.Graphically the game is absolutely beautiful so far. I'm running things around "high" on my rig and I can only imagine how insane this must look on maxed out 4k ultra capable PC's.All in all I'm sure that BF1 will find it's way into the pantheon of DICE titles that stole my attention from the collective world of gaming. And with a new COD and Titanfall dropping soon(no pun intended) it's clear that EA and DICE have a challenge on their hands. But I'm excited to get deeper into the multiplayer and if anything urgent pops up that might impact my score then you'll be the first to know.NOTE: I wish that with these NO DISC copies that Amazon would just email you the code like they do with the DLC. I should have received my copy at launch but it didn't show up until early afternoon of the following day. It doesn't matter as much to me...but I can only imagine how angry someone who took time from work would be.

The beta was fun, it worked perfectly so I pre ordered
The beta was fun, it worked perfectly so I pre ordered.Since the beta they have messed up the coding hard. Constant direct X crashes for me and 2 of my friends while the other 3 remain crash free. The game is awesome until it crashes. There is currently a thread of 175 pages of people complaining about this exact same crash. Until they fix it, you're flipping a coin to if you'll actually be able to play or not.If this crash gets fixed I'll update my review.

or the 'land-grab' as I like to call it (almost perfect for a conquest type ...
I've played all of the Battlefields that have ever came out. It's been a while since we visited a World War in the series, but this is truly what the name 'Battlefield' harkens to. Gamers have grown tired of modern warfare and future warfare and have taken to forums and other mediums to complain and beg to return to WW2, EA/DICE doubled down on that and took us back to WW1. It's a war most gamers this generation have yet to experience outside of Verdun or Valiant Hearts. It is a late war experience of 1918, so you're seeing the big push at the end of the war, or the 'land-grab' as I like to call it (almost perfect for a conquest type gameplay). No one is standing around in trenches (except for pesky snipers), they're charging and pushing forward, making this a memorable Battlefield experience. The weather is actually dynamic this time, with rain/fog/dust storms happening randomly on different maps. The guns leave a bit more to offer, but I feel there's still a more complete arsenal of weapons and included maps. This game surely beats the likes of Battlefield 4 and Hardline and has already sold more copies than both of them combined. I'm willing to put money on the fact it'll also destroy Call of Duty: 'Infant' Warfare.
