I should have gotten one a long time ago. I upgraded my security system from 2tb. Now can run 4k on 6 cameras with high resolution and bit rate and have a lot of storage space. It saves about 25days before the old stuff is written over. Its perfect for security, speed, data transfer, recordings everything is built for security systems. Its definitely worth it to upgrade to skyhawk and works with any system running the same size/type of HD

Some have said that this hard drive is noisy but it was simple to install and startup was as easy after formatting the drive and then turning the power off and on it was ready to go. I can stand in front of the nvr at 2 feet and I cannot hear the drive making any kind of noise. I go back as far as it had recorded and call on the playback and I still hear nothing and see a very clear display. I have now bought 2 additional 8GB drives like this and have installed one of them with no problem or noise. The cost seems reasonable and the compatibility is there with no noise should be running without overheating then it should last for a long time. Have not had the drive for very long but will buy this drive for any additional needs that I have. If I have any problems I will update but for now I am happy with the purchase.

Ordered 6 in different batches. 1 doesn’t work. However, seller tells me that Amazon should inform me of the return process but Amazon tells me that the seller should. I can’t complain about those that work as they work great hence the 5 star review.

I ordered two of these drives. When both arrived, it was clear that neither one was new and unopened. One drive was loose in a box and didn't have a antistatic envelope around it. The other drive still had an antistatic envelope around it, but it had been slit open. Both drives show SMART errors (I used HDDScan), and one drive is very noisy. When I try to return them, the Amazon return wizard merely shows a blank page after I select the item and click Continue, seemingly making it impossible to return via that method. I expected brand new, unopened items.

Quick, easy swap for a Lorex system I bought at Costco. I went from 2 TB to 10 TB without an issue.

Why I ordered this item: We run a small NVR setup at the office with a bunch of cameras recording around the clock, and I needed a drive that could keep up with that kind of write load without choking. Likes: * This thing doesn't drop frames. I've got it feeding four cameras at once and playback is smooth, no stutter anywhere in the timeline. * It's rated for a crazy amount of workload per year, and it's chewing through four camera streams recording nonstop like it's no big deal. * The health management software gives me useful info instead of just a blinking light. I can see drive temp and status without digging through the NVR menus. * Noise level is low for a drive doing this much work. I was expecting more clicking and grinding, but it's mostly quiet. * Five year warranty plus the recovery service is a nice cushion for a drive that's basically never allowed to rest. No likes: * It runs warm. Not alarmingly so, but if your enclosure has bad airflow this thing will let you know. * The price is outrageous for a single drive, especially when you need multiple for a real NVR setup. Would I pay full price for this product: Yes Final thoughts: This is a drive built for cameras running nonstop, not a general storage drive. If you're stuffing a bunch of security feeds onto one disk, this one just keeps recording without dropping anything. For casual backup use its overkill and you're better off spending less.

Purchased this 12TB Seagate SkyHawk AI drive for use in a network video recorder, and it has been an excellent choice for surveillance storage. La rapidez costo , duración y velocidad

Livraison nickel, produit conforme. Mais après 9 mois le disque a cessé de fonctionner sans raison extérieure qui pourrait expliquer un dysfonctionnement. J'étais un peu décu, MAIS ... contact du support SEAGATE directement. Quelques explication du problème (arrêt du disque qui n'est plus reconnu), quelques renseignements fournis ainsi que la facture d'achat et 30 minutes plus tard j'ai un numéro de retour RMA pour renvoyer le produit et me faire envoyer un nouveau disque sans frais. Je dois avouer que j'ai rarement eu une expérience aussi claire, simple, et efficace de la part d'un support. donc BRAVO le support SEAGATE. J'espère que le 2nd disque tiendra plus longtemps néanmoins ;-)
