1 panel for $600+ ? that's crazy... thought it was 6 panels as well...

Are these panels semi-rigid, or can they be rolled up?

They can be rolled up in to about 20" diameter rolls.

Will this heat a 20 x 40 in ground pool?

Absolutely, you just need to size the system properly. I am not sure what region you are in but am 80% surface area ratio compared to the pool area should cover your bases. Ideally the panels would face south or at minimum have good sun exposure during the day. Thank -Warmswim

Can this be installed on a flat alumawood patio roof?

It can be installed on a flat roof, although you will need to utilize the freeze recirculation method on your pool controller if freezing conditions are possible in your area. You may also want to add a drain or two near the panels.
