I like all the extra straps as I can attach things ...
Update in 2023: I've used this bag for a ton of things since buying it. It's my go-to weekend travel, hiking and motorcycling bag. Over all the use, I've had two of the side straps (where I tend to attach a water bottle) fail due to the stitching coming out, this happened after about two years so I switched to using the other side of the bag as my water bottle side and those ones are still going strong. The clip for the waist strap got half stepped on once and broke so I just tossed on a different clip and it's worked fine. The biggest things, and why I'm back looking at this bag, is that the fabric between the 2nd smaller pocket and the outside pockets has come apart. I've been using it as is for the past year because all the pockets are still secure and useable, however, you can't chinch on the upper sides now as it just pulls that part of the bag further apart. It's still functional enough as a general backpack with nice pocket compartments, but I miss being able to secure the bag all little more together. I'd sew it but the fabric has ripped right along a seam so it's not possible to patch/reattach. Still got a lot of great use out of it and am still happy I bought it. Original Review in 2017: I've used this bag canoe camping, hiking & as my carry-on for a trip to Ecuador. It's held up well. I like all the extra straps as I can attach things to the outside when I want or just tighten them to the size I need when I don't. The zippers & fabric all are holding up well thus far. My only complaint is in the second largest pocket, there is a little set of 2-3 smaller slip-in pockets that I'm sure would be lovely to use, but that section was sewn in upside-down, so the best use I've come up with for them is stashing emergency cash I don't need to get to too often. Other than that, the bag is great. I'd definitely buy it again.

Perfect EDC bag, even good for a two-person bug-out bag
For the price, this "tactical" backpack can't be beat. The general construction quality of this backpack rivals those of double the price. The compartments are all well designed, with the largest compartment being deep enough to hold a useful assortment of items. The shoulder straps curve inwards, and as such, seem well-positioned against a person's abdomen. The hydration pouch on the back is super nifty, and constructed very well. It's integrated so well on the back of the backpack that I didn't even notice it even after I packed the whole backpack full, until my son pointed it out. The only con that I've encountered with this backpack is that it looks a little silly when completely stuffed, because each successive layer of the bag is shorter than the previous. This gives a weird appearance when carrying a completely crammed backpack. The larger version of this backpack ( Military Tactical Backpack Large Army 3 Day Assault Pack Waterproof Molle Bug Out Bag Backpacks Rucksacks for Outdoor Hiking Camping Trekking Hunting Black ) is a little better in that regard. Compared with the larger version, which is almost the exact same price, here are the advantages that this smaller backpack possesses: * The hydration pouch is designed much better, with a dedicated zipper. The back of the hydration pouch is the back of the backpack, and is a firm, cushioned backing. * The largest compartment has an access hole on the top, from which you can run a hydration tube, headphones, etc. There is an additional access hole between the largest compartment and the hydration pouch, so that you could run hydration tubes from both the hydration pouch AND the largest compartment. This design was very well planned. * There is a y-strap that covers the top of all three compartment layers, prevent items from falling out, and also providing additional structural support when the bag is over-stuffed. The larger version doesn't have this strap. * The largest compartment is deep enough to lay some items flat, such as ponchos, emergency blankets/tents, MREs, etc. I was surprised at how much I could stuff in there. The larger version of this backpack possesses the following advantages, compared to this smaller version: * The larger version, while only a few inches larger in each dimension, is capable of being over-stuffed to a ridiculous degree. I could fit so much more in the larger version than in the small version. * The larger version spreads out better when completely packed, and looks a little less silly since each compartment layer is approximately the same height. All-in-all, I've found the smaller version backpack perfect for an EDC bag, while the larger version is perfect for a bug-out bag.

Amazing Backpack, Great Value
I've owned 2 of these backpacks for 7 years now and I can tell you they are great. I keep 1 with me as my everyday carry. There's plenty of space, they're tough and can handle lots of weight. I'm writing this review because im ordering a 3rd for my spouse.

Economic Excellence
Great purchase. Exceeded my expectations. I actually bought this for a 12.9" IPad Pro. It fits the iPad like a glove in the hidden padded pocket. I can only assume the pocket is for bullet proof armor like A500. I've never used the Molle system before so I can't compare it with another, but this has enough storage for me, my kids and my wife and still be organized. The patch is stuck to Velcro. I like it but you can always add your own. I thought it would be too big but it's the perfect size. I'm 6' and the person wearing it in the picture makes it look huge. The only downside is the pull down straps fall apart unless you have them actively tight. As well as dangle everywhere when not in use. I throw this thing, drop it, chuck it and constantly abuse it, but it looks brand new. You can go wrong with the black. If you are looking for a decent bag for everyday use in urban areas this is one is top notch. Mainly for qaulity versus cost. I have not had it for an extended period, but I like it more than the Burton bag I replaced which cost me near $100 almost 7-8 years ago.

Great bag ... but WAY to many buckle straps
Was seeking out a range/Edc bag for general use and landed on this one based on reviews. Most of the reviews were spot on. I found the bag to be not to big and not to small. Was hoping it was a tad smaller to be honest but the size was not bad (thats what she said). Fits my needs in what I was looking for on this specific bag type. The bag was received on time and no issues there. First right off the bat, I noticed this bag has A LOT of straps!! Lol.. Like 20 to many buckle straps. Ok.. I get it! They want to make sure nothing falls out. If the zipper were partially opened, the buckle straps should catch the items, but dang... there is just to much going on imo. There's a buckle strap for every corner and was just getting in the way. Tbh, I thought I could get passed it but I'd have to admit, I couldn't take it anymore.. I literally cut about 75% straps off with a pair of scissors and burnt the ends with a lighter so they wouldn't unravel any further. Now... this is a lot better. Lol.. not saying the straps weren't useful and some people may find them helpful, but for me, I was looking for more of a minimal option. I mean I'm not going camping or hiking with this backpack so it worked for me to just cut them off. Outside of that I would have given this 5 stars. Great bag other than that.

Great packs! I bought two for building our bug ...
Great packs! I bought two for building our bug out bags. Initially I thought they seemed a little small, but rest assured these packs expand and accommodate quite a bit of gear. The molle straps are fantastic, and allowed me to put some smaller things on the outside to save valuable space on the inside. The compartments have extra small pouches to further your organization. A great feature is also the zippers, which go all the way around the bag. This allows you to fold the bag open on a hinge, easily accessing gear that might be at the bottom of the bag. Sturdy straps are padded and comfortable. There is a waist strap that could use some padding, but when drawn tightly helps to distribute pack load to your hips / waist. My only other complaint about this bag is that it could some kind of mesh / padded setup on the back to enhance air flow while wearing it. Gonna create some serious back sweat if I ever have to hump with it.. but I will know that all my gear is with me which is what's important. Bottom line, a great product for a great price. Probably not the best backpack out there but for our needs this was perfect.

I love this pack!
First off, I must say that i'm extremely happy with this pack! I opted for the smaller size, even though the large pack was only $5 more. I'm very happy I went with the smaller pack because it fits me perfectly, and isn't huge and bulky. It has tons of storage space and expands to accommodate a lot of gear. I'm a 5'7 1/2 160lb female, and I absolutely love the fit of the pack. I know that bigger people/guys have also reviewed this pack and it works for them, so this can definitely be a great pack for anyone, depending on what you're looking for. This will be an everyday bag for me to test the waters, and in the summer I will use it when i'm traveling around the country. My initial plan was to use this as my "go-bag" or "bug out bag" but for now I want to use it for my daily tasks since I think it looks awesome and stylish. Something I didn't think a tactical bag could be. The shoulder straps are padded for comfort, just be aware you may need to do some adjusting to get them to mold to your shoulders/back the way you prefer. I have no problems with the zippers...they are very smooth but strong and I think they will hold up well. I really enjoy the many different pockets/storage options. It also has room for a water bladder in the back. This bag would be perfect for just about anything you need. If you're going on a long trip and think you'll be stuffing your bag with a lot of things, perhaps go for the large pack from the same company...BUT this thing holds a lot on it's own! I plan on doing a video review soon to show everyone because this pack is awesome and I love it!
