Will this work on a Dewalt 735x or just the 735?

It’s the same unit. The x is for extra blades.

does this make the planer pull more amps while running? my shop breaker is underpowered

Under a heavy load, it does. There's a Youtube video where this was tested, and the draw while planing wide oak planks was over 30 amps. I run mine on a 20 amp circuit and the breaker will shut down if I'm planing 6" wide oak for a little while.

Are the insert blades that come on the shelix head carbide or hss?
