Warren Miller is known as skiing’s greatest storyteller and as the godfather of action-sports film making. Now, here at last, is the rest of his extraordinary life story—and what happened behind the camera is even more remarkable than what you saw on the big screen. In this soul-searching autobiography, Warren revealed the secrets of his past and the peaks and valleys he navigated in bringing the sport he loves to audiences worldwide. Freedom Found is a must-read for Warren’s legion of fans, ski history enthusiasts, adrenaline junkies and anyone whose interest is piqued by an extraordinary 20th-century success story. This is a heartwarming and at times heart-wrenching account of an American innovator who did it his own way, understood the importance of making people laugh, and never looked back. Review: this is one of the best autobiographies I have stumbled upon in a long time - Poignant, hilarious and fascinating, and at all times straightforwardly humble, this is one of the best autobiographies I have stumbled upon in a long time. Although I am by no means a connoisseur of autobiographies, I do read quite a lot and have no shame in throwing a partially read book back onto the shelf if it's not to my taste (I'm looking at you, The Alienist). Freedom Found is beautifully written and follows the epic life of Warren Miller, finally showing you the man behind over 50 years of iconic winter sports filming. Not only does this book recount, first hand, many American eras that few people alive can remember (e.g., the Great Depression), it's told by a brilliant mind with incredible life experience (the book opens with a quick ski trip down an ACTIVE VOLCANO! Common. And we have the footage to prove it). As attributed to the man himself, it makes you really take to heart his admonishment: “Don’t take life too seriously, because you can’t come out of it alive.” Review: Feel good reading - If you're a ski fan or just need a nice read to remind you of a simpler time, Warren always delivers with interesting content and amazing wit!

He was an interesting person, for sure.
I liked, not loved this book. He certainly had a way with words that holds your attention. His stories were interesting and fun to read. I imagine he’d would’ve been a good hang. The book gets a little monotonous, at least for me. It became tedious reading every detail of every story. Also there are parts of his life where he glossed over that might’ve made the book a little more interesting, like being married 5 times. Maybe he didn’t feel like dwelling on the negative and focused on the positives. Like I said, liked, not loved it. I’d also say, if you have an interest in skiing photography, this is for you. If you want to read about skiing adventures while living out of a camper in search of adventure, it’s kinda for you. The early parts of his life are the best part of the book. Or, don’t listen to me and just tread the book. He was an interesting person, for sure.

Very Much Enjoyed Warren's Book
I really enjoyed reading Warren's Life story, even though I already knew some of the facts as I worked for Warren and Don Brolin in the early 70ties on the slopes in Aspen & Vail, filming the TV series with Jean Claude Killy & friend Leo Lacaouix. It was Highly enjoyable & educational then and now even more to relive those days. Waren has created a wonderful book, one that transports old(80years) Ski Bums/Instructors ,such as myself back to their youth. I shall read & reread it several times over. Thank you for making this book available. Richard "Rick" Lindner.

3 lifetimes worth of skiing and adventures!
Such dynamic man with such a great life story. It's hard to grasp how much one person can experience in a life time, but Mr. Miller does a wonderful job of bringing you in to the fantastic journey of his life. His challenges, triumphs, and all of the great stories in between. 5 stars for content, all of the great ski history and entertainment value. If you have ever watched a Warren Miller film, like to ski, or love the entrepreneurial mind this book is a must read. And don't be surprised if you find yourself planning your next adventure when your done reading it. This book reminds you that there is so much more to life, you just have to go out and discover it!

Amazing life story..
A charming recount from a super successful man about his hardships and accolades. You never would know what shaped this man into the entrepreneur that he is today... interesting and quirky...

Everything you wanted to know about Warren but didn't know to ask
I have been a fan of Warren Miller's movies since the 1980s. I have never missed an annual movie since. The last 10 years of movies have really missed something and now I know why. Warren wasn't part of them. There are a great many stories that Warren's fans will love to hear. But the book is also a heartfelt and introspective look at Warren himself. What a life he's lead! I admire and envy the man far more than before I read the book. This is a must read book for any fan.

One of the most enjoyable and honest autobiograhies I have read
I recommend this to anyone who said or has watched any Warren Miller films. Reveals so much about skiing's history and Warren's struggles to get to where he did. He demonstrated such an amazing amount of resilience, ideas, and drive. I started reading it on a loan copy in a ski resort hotel that is mentioned in the book - Mammoth Mountain. This really bought the book to life for me.

A ‘Must Have’ for Warren Miller Fans
I’ve attended Warren Miller film showings since 1969. The biography is well written and sheds a lot of light on his entire life and how it developed into his ski film empire. I still hear his voice as I read the book!
