What animal is used for the leather?

Beware of any of these China made belts. They claim to be 100% but what they are is leather grindings, put together with a poly based glue. Then the top may or may not be actual top grain leather. I compete against these daily. I guarantee a hand made belt from a local shop will out perform these. Expect to get three months wear out of these. And regarding the animal, typically cow, but since the belt is leather grindings it could be anything. Even paper is ground up in with it.

How do you size belts?

go up 2 sizes or 4 inches. A 40" waist will need a 44" belt.

Is belt strong enough to support a holster?

It is going to be used to hold my Ruger compact security 9 and everything I have looked up on this belt I expect it to hold my holster great

How wide is the belt? does it fit dickies work pants? I bough 'work' belts before and they tend to be to wide and do not fit through the belt loops

It just fits dickies pants belt loops. 1 1/2” is tight but it fits.
