This V36s is worth every penny, it can take the abuse. And for any beginner i highly recommend because hickory will break when you miss and you will, probably at one point or another

2 seasons later and this axe is still a beast. I have sharpened it after every 1/4 of cord. Cuts through 32 inch logs like nothing. I’m 6 1 240 lbs and this axe is worth every penny. On the larger pieces I need to take full swings to get through on one shot but on 8 inch and smaller it barely needs a touch to spilt. 4 cords so far all spilt by this. 36 inch model highly recommended for guys my size

It’s a great splitting axe but it’s not as strong as the competitors. I don’t give up on the knots, but it looks like this axe did. IMO, if you split a lot of wood & don’t want wood handles like me, all you need is the 36” 8lb Fiskers Maul, the Husky 28” 6lb axe and the little but indestructible Estwing 4lb Camp Axe. I’ve put them through way more than this Lex & not any issue. I will say, the Lex is the sharpest one I’ve ever bought out of the box and it had a nice pointy little heal (reason I bought it over the Fiskers) that grabbed the wood just perfect. I’m actually really disappointed it didn’t make it. By the looks of how it separated, it would’ve broke eventually.

this axe works very well to split wood....it does have a hollow handle so their is some sting to your hands.

What can I say about splitting axe? Simple, solid, well balanced, axe head is heavy as it should be...lexivon brand quality and cool style! I have a lot lexivon tools and everything is awesome, so, when I looking for axe and found a lexivon axe, bought it with closed eyes)

Bought for my son because he’s always taking my fiskars 36” camping. Figured I’d give this a try since it had good reviews. Very impressed. Very, very sharp. I could slice paper like nothing. Actually laughed as it cut better than my edc knife I had in my pant pocket. Very impressed. I would put next to my fiskars for sure

Great looking axe! Bought as gift so haven't used it but really like the construction and feel of this tool. Also like the head cover/blade protector which can be used to hang the axe.
