The Perfect Meal: The Multisensory Science of Food and Dining

Excellent book with amazing information for the culinary professional or consummate foodie. This is not a particularly light read. If you're a restaurateur, chef, bartender or other hospitality professional, this is definitely next level thoughtfulness. You shouldn't expect to replicate el Bulli or Fat Duck, but take some of the amazing lessons and look at the guest experience with new eyes.

Wow. This book taught me A LOT. They are explained in a manor that I remember well enough to share the knowledge.

I got this book because it was recommended online while I was researching plating food. I am not a chef nor do I own or run a restaurant. This book is meant for those who are looking for advice on what type of plates, cutlery, manuals to get for a restaurant. Did not serve my purpose in the least.

Love, love, love this book. Whether you are a foodie, a person interested in the science of the senses, immersive experiences, or, if you just want to get out of your comfort zone and read something that will make your imagination flow and give you a new hobby or interest, must buy, must read.

I love this type of book ....but I'm a geek. The print was uncomfortably small for my aging eyeballs but the content is excellent if you are someone who is interested in the psychology of food research.

I bought The Perfect Meal for headband who is a committed a mature cook. He reports that the book.is about exactly what he wants to know now.

Way too verbose. "I only wanted to know the time, not how to build the clock. Not engaging. The illustrations are separately collated. Not located with the section they relate too. Print is too small. Speak concisely and in bigger fonts. Does not draw the reader in.
