Avenova i-Chek Magnifying Mirror - Eyelid & Eyelash Mirror for Monitoring Styes, Dry Eyes, Contact Lenses & Lash Extensions

This is my second purchase of this item. I first purchased it in Feb 2022, and though I could see my eyes quite well, I had trouble with switch not working. I had to constantly shift my thumb around to get a good connection. Eventually, the switch got so bad I took it apart and added some extra material for additional pressure, and that worked fairly well for over a year. But recently I could barely get it turn on at all, so I took a chance and bought a new one because the old one helped me see my eyes so well. OMG, the new one is awesome! It makes a click sound when I push the "on" button (the old one didn't), so no more frustrating back and forth with my thumb, which tells me I had a defective unit before. Warning for this new one though: it came with a very sticky protective cover. When I removed it, I knew it would be problematic as goop was stuck on the mirror and it had other sticker haze too. Having had problems with sticky goop on surfaces before, I happened to have pure turpentine on hand. It took the goop off, but there was still some haze on the mirror once I cleaned the turpentine off. Next, I tried leaving a small coating of turpentine on the mirror, and that worked. I'm getting a beautiful clear glass image of my eye. I love it!!! This one is brighter than the old one, and the image is so much crisper than the old one (with the turpentine coating left on) . Wow, just wow! I'll update my review if it turns out the turpentine damages the mirror down the road.

How can the mirror be used when you can’t see in the mirror? The sticker to be peeled off leaves unremovable glue film residue on the mirror? I can see my eye with the glue remnants. How is that going to help see my eyes progress? I couldn’t clean it off with anything

Not entirely sure how to use this. I can see my eye, but when you put the light on, it blinds you, so I dont know the point. I already tried it out, so I wont be returning because, ew. I highly doubt I'll use this more than once a year, if that.

I am a new wearer of scleral lens and this is an incredible product for finding air bubbles. Every wearer of scleral lens should receive the Avenova i-chek with their lens. Please INCREASE the magnification or offer a second version. My vision is improved with the scleral lens but I still need readers. I would be more than happy to test a model with stronger magnification. Please make a deal with Bausch and Lomb and have them give a scleral lens package with your product. I am not able to see air bubbles with a mirror. This prevents so many complications. I would not be able to wear scleral lens without your product. Regular magnifying mirrors don't work for me. AGAIN, THANK YOU so much.

The light was broken when we got it, doesn't turn on. Can still be used but better with light.

The mirror quality on this isn't perfect. But this device is great. I've used it many times, as I often have a seemingly invisible to the naked eye eyelash or something in my eye, that I'll use a wet cotton swab to pull it out

do not purchase poorly made, worked excellent for about month then easily scratched and leds stopped working. when open to see poor made led connections and full of rust with no expose to water.

This is the best way to see if you have a bubble under scleral contact lenses. I use it every day and I can't imagine shining a flashlight in my eye to check for a bubble when the Ichek is so much better.
