Finally, can regulate temperature in my upstairs room!
I'm so happy to have found this fan! I remembered the effectiveness of window fans while growing up in east coast humidity. You could draw hot air out and cool breeze in. I really wanted to try one out in my summer hot small bedroom/office on the second floor. I'm not fond of the "coldness" of air conditioners and I like to have fresh air circulating. I've tried other types of floor fan models which made the heat somewhat tolerable, even considered a swamp cooler but I just don't have the space for something like that. I only have one window which I cherish for the view and the natural light. So I was hesitant to block anymore of that view than necessary. Then I found this low profile Airbar fan, the good reviews it had and decided to give it a try. Bingo, it's a winner! It was easy to install and have up and running in about 10 minutes. The controls are simple and easy to use. It's moderately quiet and no flashing lights, just 3 tiny indicator lights to let you know the power level you've chosen (low, medium, high). The low profile has a clean look in the window and I still have my window view to the natural world outside. I use the exhaust setting a lot because it's very effective at quickly cooling the room without blowing a lot of air on me while I sit at my desk across from the window. And when some food was burned on the stove in the kitchen downstairs, the exhaust setting quickly dissipated the smoky smell which rose up to the 2nd floor and into my bedroom. We don't have central air in this old house so have been searching for effective ways of regulating upstairs heat in the summer. This is working so well that we are now considering getting one for the upstairs guest bedroom too. I highly recommend this fan as an unobtrusive and effective solution to cool a room. And you don't have to take up any floor space either. Give it a try and have a happy and cool summer!

Very quiet directed stream of air
I have been looking for a decent squirrel cage style window fan for years. Although this is a little on the pricey side, I think it is well worth the investment. 1st) They look to be quite well built. I love that the design of the grill, which is in a uniform rectangle. This makes it possible to cut a block of foam (preferably gray in color ~ which I did) to block the flow of air from the outside air when the fan is not in use by sandwiching into the sides of the unit in front of the grill. 2nd) I like that it was easy to apply a screen with duct tape to the outdoor side of the air intake to keep out insects. 3rd) The fact there is no remote control is a bonus because it's one more thing to loose. 4th) The electronic buttons are intuitively easy to use and it's a big plus that you can use it to exhaust your indoors if you burn the toast. 5th) Even on high the fans are relatively quiet. On the low settings they are nearly inaudible. 6th) I love they are weather resistant, that said I will likely construct a roof out of plexiglass to shield the unit from storms as I intend to have them available for use all year round, although in the heat of Summer I'll forgo the hot humid outdoor air for AC. 7th) They are offered in a black color which has two advantages. First they will show little in the way of particle dirt accumulation compared to the typical white window fans which look like they need cleaning after one week use. Second, they essentially trap light which is great for the bedroom when you do not want to be disturbed by sunlight in the early morning hours. 8th) The air pattern generated by the fan is more of a directed narrow beam that excites the air thereby moving the air in the room around in contrast to the typical prop style fan which leaves stagnate zones within the living space. Cons? Maybe slightly less CFM per dollar to other window fans. That said, I am convinced that the CFM generated by this fan has greater efficiency in the way that it creates a beam of air that excites or moves around the air in the room to a greater scale. I purchased 2 because I love the design and function of the unit. Recommended.

Man, this thing sucks! ... oh, and blows! :)
I gotta say.. I'm a FAN! (I'm here all week, tip your waitri) So, getting this was a risk, but I didn't want to replace my 5th window fan with the same version, so I looked around and found this one, and even though the description clearly said that it was not for vertical use, I took the dive anyway. And, Ta Da!! Works like a charm! I run a window fan 24/7, 365, so we'll see how it hold up, but so far I'm impressed. Easy to install (the foam thingies were a head scratch at first) and I feel like it moves considerably more air than the dual fan version it replaced. I like the way it looks, and it's quiet. Pretty much everything I was looking for in a window fan.

Fantastic Window Fan. Moves Tremendous Amount of Air for Size
I have a large room over a 3-car garage that is very difficult to cool. I've owned a variety of window fans and was looking for something that moved more air than the typical two blade window fan. I was considering a larger one blade as those move a ton of air, but this product peaked my interest. It's definitely on the more expensive side for this category, but it is also a bit unique. I have to say that this fan has lived up to all expectations I had for it and more. I found it quite easy to install, and modular foam brick concept for blocking the sides is a cool idea, but in execution given two pieces of 3 different sizes of foam bricks it's not possible to get an absolutely perfect seal in every case, at least not mine. It's not terrible, a small gap, but still as good as any dual blade fan I've owned. Beside that nit-pick, there are a ton of pro's - this very slim fan moves an INCREDIBLE amount of air not only for its size, but compared to any typical window fan I've ever owned/used (excluding a big box fan). Even on level one, I literally feel the cool breeze over 15 ft away in the room. This alone "blew" me away, but there's more. The unit is truly whisper silent on low. On high setting it's audible in a quiet room, but it's a white-noise like sound, not obtrusive. As advertised can also reverse. Functionally, the only features that I may want that is not included in this unit are a remote and a thermostat... some method to have the unit turn off on a cool night so the room doesn't get too cold, especially considering how much air the thing moves. Pros and cons considered, completely logically I should give this product 4 ⭐️ but because I've been so impressed with this unit I'm giving it five stars. Fantastic window fan.

Not quiet, not strong, not drafty so long as it's on.
The bad: I had to remove the sides to get it to fit in my window, and it's the narrowest portal type fan I could find. I use it primarily as an exhaust fan, and the portal fans are much less drafty in the winter. If it's not on, it must be removed to close the window, or there will be a draft. Mine is wedged tightly into the window and removing it is not convenient, so it runs all the time in the winter. I get that this is not exclusively an exhaust fan, but I wish they made one that is, and has slats on the back like an exhaust fan that can be turned off and automatically closes. I have several fans, and this one, the one that must always be on when the house is closed up in the winter, is the loudest and moves the least amount of air on the lowest setting, pretty much just enough to prevent a draft. On the contrary, I have a portal tower fan that is the quietest and moves the most amount of air on the lowest setting, so I know they can do better. On the occasion I am able to turn it off, when I turn it back on it reverts back to a blowing fan, and I have to change it back to exhaust each time, which seems like unnecessary added wear on the mechanism. There are no fancy 'bells and whistles' with this fan. Not only does it not remember if it's an exhaust fan, there's no remote, WiFi or Bluetooth, or any sensors and automatic controls. These are your options: on or off, in or out, low, medium or high. The good: it's low profile, black, disappears in the shadow below the window, so it looks okay even with the end pieces removed to fit. If it wasn't so loud and moved more air, I'd forget it was there. But it has run virtually non stop all winter, and most of fall and spring, with no mechanical breakdowns. I can't say whether I'd recommend it. For me, it's pretty much the only option, for now, unfortunately. I keep looking to upgrade it...

GREAT FAN $79.99
HELLO EVERYONE, I AM HERE TO GIVE A 2 YEAR UPDATE ON THIS BEAUTIFUL WINDOW FAN THAT I PURCHASED 2 YEARS AGO, AND I PURCHASED TWO OF THESE WINDOW FANS IN BLACK FOR $79.99 EACH FOR MY LIVING ROOM AND IT WORK'S GREAT!!!!!!! NO NOISE AT ALL AND ALTHOUGH THE AIR IS NOT STRONG I LIKE THE LIGHT COOLNESS AND QUIET SOUND I GET FROM IT I GET VERY RELAXED WHEN I AM FEELING THAT AIR IN MY LIVING ROOM BUT THIS WINDOW FAN IS THE BEST FAN I HAVE EVER HAD AND ALTHOUGH I DON'T LIKE TO REMOVE IT FROM MY WINDOW BUT WHEN IT'S TIME FOR ME TO REMOVE IT I WILL CLEAN IT USING FANSTASTIC SPRAY AND HOT WATER ON THE BLADES AND THEN PUT IT AWAY WHEN THE SUMMER IS OVER BUT WHAT I LIKE THE MOST ABOUT THIS FAN IS THAT IT HAS BEEN WET SO MANY TIMES FROM THE RAIN STORM AND IT STILL CONTINUE TO WORK! The noise coming from this unit is very much not giving (refurbished) more like (Refundme)!!!
I received a few days ago, but I was not Home at the time so today, I opened the box which was very much beat up. I thought that’s probably Normal for this type of thing, but After plugging in the unit and powering it on the noise, I mean, let me repeat that The noise coming from this fan is hellish is giving I was broken supposedly refurbished and I’m still broken. I am very much requesting a refund this time. I don’t even want a replacement because I feel like even the replacement will be just like this. I can’t trust again. The products are branded as refurbished, good and used. How can I ever? Any case I would advise any and all of you to not buy refurbished that is broken…

Better than the vornado!
My stove is in front of the kitchen window so i use this for exhaust more than anything and it works well. If im boiling something you can see the steam get sucked right through and out the window. I used to use the vornado window fan like this one but it had a few issues. 1, the vent shapes. They were diamond shaped and collected dust and mold in the corners that were so acute you could barely fit a qtip in them to clean. This one has normal rectangle shaped vent guards. Very easy to clean and doesnt even really collect grime to begin with. 2, the vornado featured a touch screen. This is cool and futuristic, sure, but highly impractical. After a while the touch screen would bug out and just switch fan modes or turn on by itself. After a while i had to rely completely on the remote control to use it because the touch screen crapped out completely. This one doesnt have a remote, but im not lazy and the buttons are working just fine. 3, noise vs power. The vornado and this one are probably equals when it comes to fan/exhaust power, however the vornado was MUCH louder than this one is. Which, ya know, kinda sucks.

Amazing airflow! Excellent form factor, functionality and design.
I've had this installed in my window for quite some time now and there is little wear and tear to the bearings. It's been mostly on since I bought it and it's still going strong! The reason I barely turn it off is that I've noticed a drastic temperature drop in my room, working extremely well in bringing cool air when its colder outside and having the exhaust turned on when hot air is trapped in my room. Because this is horizontal cylinder fan, it is louder than traditional fans but I don't see that as a negative given it's convenient and compact form factor and overall sleek design.

Seems to work really well.
Surprised how this is holding up. I'm using it to replace a header about a door in a small outdoor garden studio and it's fantastic. The reverse airflow means it can help to dry out the space during times of high humidity and also provides some cooling when its hot. I'm impressed. Not loud at all.

Expensive, the reverse flow is not strong.
Works well to bring outside air inside. The reverse flow mode is not as strong. I like that it has a flap that closes to reduces air leakage when it is shut off. Fairly quiet on highest setting equal to a pedestal fan.
