Extra Strong Trigger Power Switch Button for Dyson V10 V11 SV12 SV14 Cleaner Repair Fix Tool

The trigger on our Dyson V11 broke. Apparently it’s a common problem. I got this and replaced it myself. Fairly easy to do, just find a YouTube video to follow. This one seems a bit more durable than the original Dyson trigger. It is still plastic so time will tell. So far so good!

The trigger on my $700 five-year-old Dyson V11 broke, so I bought this part and fixed it per instructions from a youtube video. Took about three hours and some of that time was spent cleaning. Once you start taking the vacuum apart, it will make a MESS! It's been a very good vacuum; however, after spending $700, I should NOT have to do this job after only five years of weekly use. This is actually my second cordless Dyson. I had the first one for about six years and had to replace the battery once; and that's ok, it's maintenance. However, the plastic became very brittle and the thing literally fell apart. I'm now starting to have the same problem with this one too; the lower part of the handle, where it connects to the battery, has cracked and I've had to reinforce it with duct tape. That said, our corded Dyson "Ball" still works fine after 15 years or so.

Be prepared to go on a repair journey. Not recommended for the non mechanically inclined. Once installed, the trigger works as it should. Hopefully this is going to be a permanent repair. Don't want to do that again.

The 2 holes ( on the switch ) I had to ream out a little. Wouldn't move freely. Other than that a 2 beer repair with patience.

This is supposed to be an extra strong replacement for the OEM trigger. The part lasted 14 months. The original trigger lasted 4 years.

I called Dyson’s warranty department for an issue with my vacuum’s trigger not activating upon pressing. She informed me that I’d have to purchase a new vacuum as this issue could not be fixed. I did not want to spend almost $200 on a new vacuum so I did some research on YouTube and saw that with a Dyson repair kit (also purchased on Amazon), some time, and memorization on where a million screws that have to be taken out are placed, I figured me and my boyfriend could complete the task. We ordered this part and the kit and in 2 hours (and some heated moments trying to figure out screw placement), the vacuum was as good as new. I’m glad I went this route instead of purchasing a brand new vacuum. This is a much stronger trigger than what the vacuum originally came with. I’m very happy with this purchase.

Easy fix. So far it seems better than the original trigger. Would recommend.

Perfect fit, it does claim to be reinforced however the reinforcement isn’t where the old switch had broken so not sure how long it will last, but at that price if it lasts a year it will still be a lot cheaper than buying a new Dyson Vxx

Ok, bought this to replace a broken trigger switch on a Dyson V11 cordless vacuum. Given the number of videos online this appears to be a fairly standard fault & not what you would expect from such an expensive machine.This replacement switch claims to be ‘extra strong’ and there is a marginal difference in the thickness of the plastic & it appears to flex in a similar way to the original, so time will tell if it lives up to the claim.Disassembly, replacement & re-assembly took around 45 minutes following one of the videos on YouTube & the item was a perfect fit and the vacuum now works properly again. Fitting is a little fiddly with the main issue being the cabling & routing of wires, but overall a relatively straightforward procedure. For info. I also bought a Rolson 59133 4pc Pick & Hook Set at the same time to help with the wiring.Something which would have set my mind at ease a little sooner was that it’s difficult to see how the switch can work as it appears to be in the ‘on’ position when you put it back together, however, the mechanism becomes clear when you re-insert the battery pack 😉😂

It did the job and seems strong, however the bit that applies pressure to activate the battery (turning it on) was slightly too long which meant the Hoover turned on when you inserted the battery. I fixed this by shortening it slightly.
