Are the students multi cultural?

The figures shown on the box are what comes in the packaging.....there are no defined cultures

How are these size-wise compared to Legos? Would they fit in a LEGO city my son has built in his room or would they be too big?

Some of the pieces are tiny. The children are about 2-2.5 inches tall. I got it for a five year old and I think I should have waited. He doesn't put things in his mouth or anything, but this seems imo for a 7-12 child
