Nothing shows up when i plug this into my macbook pro 2018 and use photo booth. how do i get this to work? are there clearer instructions?

With the microscope connected and photo booth active: Go to the top menu bar; select "Camera"; select the microscope instead of the onboard camera.

Does it work with slides or only objects?

For some slides it is best to use a backlight for transmission mode. You can use a small USB light pad or your cell phone with white plastic over it as the backlight. The pixels on your phone are too big to work directly. It’s that high of a magnification on this microscope!

Does this scope take and save pictures?

Yes, you can snap an image and record videos of what you see from the microscope, the pictures and videos will be saved in the memory card.

Is there an extension for the base? The minimum height is not sufficient to fit the entire target in frame.
