Does the fixative add gloss or discolor either paper or oil pastels?

yes it does add a little bit of gloss a tiny bit. if you use to munch yes it will fold paper. you want to do in small doeses over couple of day as long as you dont use too munch. that being said this is the best brand for this. the other brands will do even more damage so just be conservative with it. As long as you dont go overbored you will be ok. you can also do a test run on small paste to see how it works for you.

Will this work on an oil pastel over acrylic mixed media piece?

Yes, great product though the actual spray nozzle is a nightmare and needs serious attention from Sennilier asap

Will this fixative allow oil pastels to remain unframed behind glass?

Well, idk, sure fix them and put glass over ~ seems a waste of glass and fixative ~ ya don't need glass with Sennlier OP fixative.

Can I continue to make changes to my piece after I use this product?

no. it covers with a plastic-like finish that will not take add-ons.
