O2 Classic Pay as you go Classic PAYG

Needed a new nano sim for 4g compliance with my elderly mother in law's mobile. I have had her on the 02 classic payg tariff for a few years as she is adamant she doesn't want a regular monthly direct debit. I thought I would struggle to find a nano sim on the same plan, literally top up as and when you need to till I found this little beauty. Easy to install and setup , great call quality, Work's perfectly on a doro, ideal for elderly users who just want talk or text time, not data. Links beautifully to the my O2 app. Call costs very reasonable, 3p per minute, 2p per text. Like others I used a top up voucher to install initial credit. This sim and it's payment plan is ideal where, if you are like me, trying to keep elderly relatives safe but with no regular monthly top up fees involved. Top marks to A1 tribal. Very happy customer.

The seller was incredibly helpful and responsive, and advised buying an O2 top-up voucher and dialling 4444 to redeem it. Before that, I initially struggled to activate the SIM, adding credit online doesn't work because the SIM can't receive a confirmation SMS messages before being activated, and phoning 4444 and using a debit card simply failed after putting in my card details. You can buy voucher codes online from PayPal as a digital gift card. Personally it took them 4 hours to send me a code, but where I am that's still quite convenient and I can recommend it. Ignore reviews suggesting going to an O2 shop for anything other than buying top-up credit vouchers, they will likely try to upsell you to a monthly contract.

Got exactly what I paid for (O2 PAYG Classic sim as illustrated) but beware! The same seller (and maybe others?) is selling what appears to be the same product going by the illustration for just over a pound and I got an O2 monthly contract sim instead. It seems a fair few people have had this problem but I have now bought two of these sims from this seller using the 2.99 pathway and have had success. That's all I can say. This particular product, it seems, is no longer being produced by O2 because it isn't cost effective, but for light users when out and about (like me), it's perfect.

Many thanks to the seller here. I got this sim card for my elderly mother, it was to go with her new Opis Push Me Fon. I slotted sim in, but didn't work, so I took sim to 02, the lady who served was abrupt and more interested in paying attention to customers who were already being dealt with by staff, but she tweaked the sim, without explaining what she was going to do, she slotted the sim in phone and it worked. You definitely need to take your sim to 02 if you can't get fixed up. I'm glad to be rid of over priced BT, and welcome much cheaper 02 sim. I really do appreciate this classic 02 sim, and yes it is an accurate description.

No problems encountered

Genuine O2 Classic PAYG with a 2027 expiry date. Easy to set up. Following the advice from other reviewers, I bought an O2 top up voucher from a supermarket, put sim card in phone, dialled 4444 and followed instructions to add the voucher. Sent one text then checked balance and received confirmation that I was on the Classic 3-2-1 and had spent 2p on the text. I am delighted to have been able to get this cheap tariff as all I need is text and occasional call. Thank you A+ Tribal Mobile.
