I have struggled with what I thought was dandruff my whole adult life. I have paid hundreds for all the shampoos, from the expensive and fancy to the harsh and medicinal. I've put vinegar on my head. I even went to the dermatologist to see if I had some kind of condition. None of it worked. I finally had a stylist tell me that it isn't dandruff, my scalp is just dry. I started using conditioner by the fistful, which helped with the dryness, but left my hair feeling greasy - traded one problem for another. Then I found this. I washed my hair, parted it, put this on, and felt such an immediate sense of relief that I actually yelled "seriously, this is all I needed?" and them grabbed my phone to gush about it to my best friend. I love this. I can't believe how non-itchy my scalp is now. I don't even notice my scalp anymore, in the best way. It doesn't weigh my hair down, it smells great, and oh man, the relief from the itching. And wow, no flakes...can I get a lifetime supply, please? It says on the container to expect relief after 4 weeks. It was immediate for me.

I developed dry, itchy scalp after moving to Colorado and adjusting to the mountain climate. In the winter months, it gets particularly bad, but if I visit the coast or warmer climates, the issue clears up on its own. I thought I had dandruff, psoriasis, or maybe an allergy to my Redken hair dye so I tried MANY different remedies over the years in the hopes of curing my itchy and scratchiness. Nizoral dried my hair out & sulfate dandruff formulas stripped my hair color. I read the reviews for Living Proof and figured it was worth a shot. It's only been a few weeks now but already, I've noticed my scalp is less irritated and feels much more hydrated and nourished. The itchiness has also subsided, which is a HUGE relief! I use this about 3x a week after shampooing and go easy with application, since you don't need much. Just a few drops in my problems areas, rub it in, then apply styling product and blow or air dry. The slim tip applicator makes it easy to target just those areas that bother you. I never did see a dermatologist to confirm what my issue is but this appears to be working for me as an OTC remedy. It may not work for those with serious skin conditions like psoriasis so if that's you, best to talk to a derm.

I Love all of Living Proofs clean products and I bought this for my very dry scalp, which is to be applied to wet clean hair serval times a week and in way too many areas of the hair according to the directions, which makes it a very expensive treatment. It’s weightless and doesn’t have a scent that’s noticeable or irritating and it’s very easy to apply and rub into my scalp. I have noticed a decrease in the amount of dryness and flakes, but I haven’t quite figured out all the right places or the perfect amount to use and I don’t always wash my hair as often as suggested for application. However in the front of my hair where the dryness was terrible and flakes were evident they have decreased with use. I recommend if you can afford it and follow the application suggestions, for me I am still trying to find the correct balance.

I was really hoping this product would do more for me considering the price point. I do think it’s a good product and it definitely helps hydrate the scalp, but it doesn’t relieve itching. For me, I need to get the itching under control before I can really benefit from something that’s just moisturizing my scalp. Other products usually include tea tree oil, rosemary, or similar ingredients that create a slight tingling sensation that helps calm the urge to itch, but this one doesn’t have anything like that. It feels more like a moisturizing gel. I will say I really like that when you apply it, it doesn’t make your hair look greasy or feel sticky when you run your fingers through it. I love that aspect of it. I just wish it did more to actually help with the itching.

Ayant un psoriasis que seule l'huile de ricin réussissait à calmer (pas très pratique quand je veux éviter de faire un shampoing), ce sérum m'a très très agréablement surprise ! Je l'utilise depuis quelques mois et j'ai vraiment l'impression que ça a drastiquement calmé mes démangeaisons (je précise quand même que j'ai également changé de shampoing à cette période donc je ne saurais pas dire si c'est l'un, l'autre ou les deux produits en même temps qui ont réussi cet exploit). En plus de me sembler efficace, il a un bon parfum, ne rend pas le cheveux gras (à condition de ne pas en appliquer une trop grosse quantité), est facile à appliquer... Très bonne découverte, je recommande !
