Makes great espresso!
High quality filter basket that performs exactly as advertised. The machining is excellent and the basket feels noticeably more precise than the factory one. I’ve seen better flow and more consistent results since switching, especially with higher dose shots. Fits my 54mm Breville portafilter properly and seats well. A worthwhile upgrade for anyone serious about improving espresso consistency.

Works like a charm compared to the Stock
After receiving my IMS H28 Basket, I can say that I'm blown away by the shots I can pull. After looking at the hole quality, it definitely is an improvement over the stock Breville baskets that I use on my Breville Bambino. With a larger capacity of 21 grams, I'm able to use more coffee and achieve a fuller, more flavorful shot. The water is also distributed more evenly, resulting in a well-balanced espresso with a rich crema. I dose from 18-22 depending on the beans I get. I highly recommend the IMS H28 basket for anyone looking to take their espresso game to the next level. TLDR: Pros: Better water channeling Allows for bigger dosage Higher quality compared to stock Breville basket Unpressurized and works best with Bottomless portafilters Easy to clean Cons: A little bit expensive Not that many Overall, please get this basket for your Breville. The stock basket can only really pull with 14g which leads to really acidic pulls if you want 2 oz shots.

Great basket & great customer service
Overall, this is a great basket! It is a bit deeper than most since it is a 19-21 gram basket for a 54mm basket diameter, so you may need to adjust your distribution tool to get down deep if you don't use it in conjunction with a tamper. I use just the distribution tool as a tamper and it works for me. I contacted the seller about an imperfection in the basket, where the wall was scratched rather deep. They reassured me that it wouldn't impact any negative flavors but proceeded to sent me another basket to alleviate my concerns! If you are using the Portafilter that came with the Breville Bambino, it will NOT fit if you don't remove the plastic inner distributer. I went ahead and bought the Matow wooden handle bottomless portafilter and it fits snuggly in that just fine. Overall, I've been getting good consistent shots from this basket & have been able to improve my coffee puck preparation by switching to the bottomless filter as well. It really emphasizes how important it is to have fresher coffee (the CO2 produced in the basket from the extraction helps produce your crema, but also helps inhibit the flow of coffee). I was getting 6 second shots with old coffee. Moment I swapped to one roasted earlier this month, perfect shot!

Good, not precision
I got the H24 and the H28 to try with the bambino. They are shown along side the stock pressurized two cup basket. The stock basket has a taper that lets it clear the plastic insert in the stock portafilter. For either the H24 or H28 to fit, the plastic insert must be removed. The IMS baskets are a tight fit, which makes it difficult to get the basket in and out of the portafilter. For a product that claims to be precision, I was surprised that the the hole pattern was off-center by a good millimeter.

I wasn't sure if this would actually improve anything...fits Solis Barista Perfetta Plus perfectly
Bottom-line - I hadn't bought the hype on IMS baskets...until now. I honestly fully intended on using it once or twice and returning it - underwhelmed. Anyway... Physically, this fit great in my stock Solis portafilter with the plastic piece removed. Some claiming it is too tight, I don't have that experience. When installing in the machine, I didn't notice any extra resistance, I actually thought it was easier to lock in than my other aftermarket basket. Not sure what the person is doing that said it didn't fit their Perfetta Plus - can confirm, it fits. I have a really nice aftermarket basket setup I got with a bottomless portafliter, and I honestly would have told you it was the same thing as an IMS basket until I compared them side by side. The difference is pretty noticeable, which surprised me. Now onto the shot I pulled - I couldn't believe I noticed an actual difference. Not only was it less harsh, it seemed to flow quite a bit better, to the point I thought I had channeling(pressure was still consistent though). I inspected the puck and it looked totally fine and the shot was very well balanced(I have been stirring lately, thanks James Hoffmann lol). Very excited to keep using this - I think I can grind a bit finer as well.

Get it! The real deal
I am by no means a barista expert. I used to work at Starbucks, where pulling good shots meant “pressing the button on the automatic machine.” I’ve been on a consistent journey with my Breville Barista Express to find out how I can pull shots that taste better and better. I’d heard about IMS baskets, but for a long time there weren’t any made to fit my machine. This one does (although I use a 3rd party bottomless portafilter). My first try using it, I pulled a shot using the standard basket first, and then swapped in the IMS basket, pulled another shot, and tasted both. Without my even beginning to adjust the dose or grind, the IMS basket immediately produced more flavorful shots. The best way to describe it is the shots I pull with this have more “depth” to them: the flavor goes “deeper” somehow than the standard basket. There’s more to the flavor profile as a whole, so to speak. I notice this as well with shots that aren’t dialed in yet: all the flavor notes seem to have more to them. I would definitely recommend this to anyone with a Barista Express. It has the ability to improve the quality of every shot you pull, without any additional effort on your part.

Still learning to distribute and tamp properly, but the basket and shower screen helps a lot.
