Interesting combination of contemporary design and rust finish
I followed the recommended”recipe” to hasten the rusted look. The assembly was a little challenging because it didn’t come with instructions, but eventually I figured it out. It would have been helpful to have a diagram. I think I wound up attaching the sides first and then the bottom last.

I LOVE this product... but not as a planter
I searced for awhile trying to find something that would match my bed (steel and walnut), and finally came across these planters. They look perfect and are really beautiful. I would highly recommend them and also encourage their use beyond just a planter...As far as craftsmanship goes, these things are a beast. Even empty they are heavy as he.. and definitely made to last.

Best in class!
Great quality, beautiful, sturdy and awesome! I’m very happy with it!

Screws and nuts for installation do not allow for room to screw them or marry the nuts.
Just received 4 of them. These have to be put together... only the screws/nuts are located such that you can't get to them to make the install without magic... which I do not have. For what I paid for these I expected MUCH better. Will return all 4. Crazy!!!!

Does not arrive with patina
The planter is pictured with a rusty patina however it arrives as a stainless steel box. Not particularly attractive and certainly not the way it's pictured. Over time the patina has begun to build. However it is uneven and spotty and takes time for it to look the way it did in the ad. It is starting to look nice. However don't buy it if you're expecting it to look good for this weekend's party.

Read the fine print - surprised that it needed assembly
I was surprised that my new Veradek Cortin Steel long planter didn't have welded corner seams like the 7 other Veradek planters I've purchased over they years. It never entered my mind the this one would need assembling. I reread the listing after the flat box arrived and saw at the very bottom of the page that this size required assembly. Not wanting to lose approx $30 in postage and restocking fees, I went ahead and assembled the planter.1) The instruction booklet is useless. The diagrams are printed in barely visible ink and do not resemble the 45 degree corners of this planter. However, I was able to look up the instruction online. 2) It was pretty frustrating trying to work with the screws and wing nuts in such a small space, since you have to join two 45 degree angle pieces. 3) One of the locking nuts was defective on the bottom piece, but I removed it and managed to find an alternate remedy. 4) I can see daylight through all joined seams, and in the corners on the bottom. Hopefully, dirt and water will not escape. The Good News is that the planter has already started rusting as promised, since it's humid here in Houston. It would be helpful if the seller would indicate in the description at the top of the page that assembly is required for certain sizes. I would have chosen a size that was one solid piece.

Solid product
Really durable planter. Only complaint is the hex key is to long to fit in the corners. Instead of using wing nuts should use lock nuts cause you can fit a small wrench in the corners.

Nice when put together…
I like it very much now that it’s outside. It was very tricky to put together. The instructions don’t address this. I would have liked a bit more info. After 45 minutes, I did figure it out. It will be tougher for people who have larger fingers. Two advanced degrees did not help.

READ THE AD CAREFULLY
This planter comes as raw metal and is supposed to rust over time to the colour portrayed in the ad. Clearly I didn’t read the ad well enough but I also don’t recall any photos in the ad of the planter in its untrusted form. This item was totally unusable for its intended location. The rusting process would not just happen magically. It would be slow and messy leaving rust all over the patio; and I doubt it would rust to anywhere near the evenness of the colour portrayed or even be the colour portrayed.I did process a return. The return label clearly said postage required. It is quite heavy and would cost a fair bit to return.I donated it to some unsuspecting prize table for a local golf tournament.

Assembly Required.
I love the planter, however it took me at least three and a half hours to assemble just one. I ordered two, so if the second one, which I haven't started yet, takes as long that's seven hours of my life used for assembling just two planters. Perhaps if my fingers were skinnier and longer I may have done it quicker and easier, however I must say that assembly was a frustrating experience for me. Are these available pre-assembled? I would gladly pay an additional $50 per planter for that option. I knocked off one star for difficulty of assembly, however if I did the review while I was working on it I would have knocked off three or four.

VERY Small !!
I purchased 2 of these and I was surprised how small they are, very misleading, emailed twice the seller to return and not even a respond and Amazon says you have to contact seller.. too expensive for the size.

Annoying
Incredibly awkward to put together. Something so simple in construction shouldn’t take this much effort to put together. Will never use these products again.
